By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostYou should still be able to hit your previous weights. Barbell bench is easier than db benching and you can lift significantly more weight on the barbell when you jump on it from dbs
My old bar routine was basically
10x40kg
10x80kg
10x120kg
10x140kg
And then whatever I could manage at 160, not going to failure as I never had a spot. Usually topped out at about 8 reps. Did all of this quite quickly because my old gym was tiny and only had the one bench and bar for it. Just got lazy af with the weights because of the 2 lockdowns and haven't had the desire since.
also got some new lights for my bike as the nights are longer now. 1300 lumen thing on the front, 200 on the back. Shit is like a car's full beam headlight lol
By Patriotism Go To Postshit maybe I should get back to the bench. Currently hitting 68KG with dumbbells, 3x10 no problems. Looked at it after lockdown and thought nah i'll never get back to my pre-lockdown level.
Any of you lads got a good regime for shoulder mobility? Mine's never been the best, especially since i fucked my right shoulder playing Rugby as a lad. Would love to loosen up a bit more.
What used to work for me was doing shoulder pole stretches. I started with a resistance band since I had terrible mobility initially, then used a wood stick.
Really helped me loosen up enough over time to squat with a lower bar position on my back.

By domino Go To Postdude looking near the green plate was like "maaaaan smh" lolGoing for more hyptertrophy this year just to change things up.
what are yall's goals for 2022?
-At 230. Want to cut down to 200 and see how I look
-Better conditioning which will be much easier at 200
-Eliminating as much sugar as I can. I got a real sweet tooth.
-Less supplements, more real shit. Want to streamline the hell out of my food
-3 pl8 bench

Drop this covid weight I put on. Ass can literally clap cheeks rn.
Malding hard at drivers today. Within 10 mins cycling on the road, I've almost been taken out ,via dangerous overtaking manoeuvres, 3 times.
Been a good day, got a few hours in at the gym, a few hours of cycling and a game of football in. Still buzzing so might hit the gym late night for a chill light session after I get some meat in me.

Hope it's not aching too badly tomorrow 'young' man
been in the bath and foam rolled everything lol
I think I want to shoot for 300 bench in 2022. 265 is my max at 160 BW. Bout halfway through this current program and I’m getting over the PR chase burnout.
And be able to run a mile without stopping. I realize how funny that one is as a person that loves to play soccer. I’ll probably have to take up yoga again (breath control) for that.

I don't really care that much about being cut. The aesthetic goal has always been more big and strong, but these love handles get out of control sometimes.
Konstantin Konstantinovs was the ideal body to me.

Nope I feel that. Struggle with running distance outside a treadmill. Body is far more tuned to start stop sprints etc because of football. There was a point years back where I'd join my bro doing to occasional 10k but that put horrible mileage on my knees so gave it up.
Heh, other way around for me now, a casual 20k is nothing nowadays but can't do the short bursts as much.
Got costochondritis and that shit is easily the worst pain I've had in my life. There's 2-3 ribs that are subluxated on my right side and if I have the nerve to think about taking a deep breath they make sure to tell the muscles and nerves to make me understand the error of my ways. I don't know what it feels like to be stabbed with a knife that shoots out lighting bolts after it slips between a rib but I think I have an idea of it now.
I live in a constant state of feeling like I"m too small then my social media memories pop up some shit from like 3 years ago where my back looks like a fucking ^ taper instead of a v
weather forecast and radar said no rain.
Fucking hailstones and then pissed it down 40 minutes into my ride tonight lol. Just got back, have to dry off and warm up because i've got football in 25 mins.

I am slowly but surely starting training after that massive fucking surgery, and it is killing me. I can bike for like 20 min and I am completely dead afterwards, who would have thought surgery and barely even walking for a month would destroy your body. Pretty much gained all the weight I lost in the las half year as well, which is not cool. But hey, in a months time I am also finally allowed to lift more than 1.5 kg in each hand again, and I can continue the quest to not be a weak boi
today marks 10 years of lifting, 5 of those I can say I truly know what I am doing. but man I can't imagine going through my 20s having not ever worked out. I have to give my mom credit there as much as I give her shit for rarely getting me what I want for Xmas, buying me weights for Xmas was the one "I'm going to get you something you need" gift that actually paid off.
beyond all the vain of my life parts it has improved, general life is just so much easier this way.
moving shit around for work, or around the house, withstanding injuries, etc etc. I remember unloading Sysco delivery trucks absolutely ruining my day and now I can just toss heavy shit around flippantly like it's light as a feather. I also don't think I'd be as successful in my career w/o the discipline from hitting the gym consistently because I'm lazy as hell really.
at this point the old people in the gym inspire me more than people around my age that are in similar/stronger strength and shape. I'm trying to be 40 or 50 and still get it as hard as they do.

The guy who got me pushing weights was a 60 year old former violent alcoholic from Newcastle, who found Jesus. Saw him doing 100kg shoulder press and decided I needed to be there, too. Back when I was 18 years old. I got there in the end. He lifted heavy but was lean af. What a hero he was for me.
Gym's are closed here again due to COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions.
You can imagine how this can fuck with you both physically and mentally, I really don't like not having a gym routine. Sure I have my home basement with some very basic weights setup but it's really, really not the same.

By Batong-TT Go To PostMaybe slow yoga would be your thing for now, Emil, restorative and yin yoga.
Movement still way too restricted to do a lot of movements, so not for now, maybe later though. Should be able to do whatever in a month's time without fearing hernias

This has been me for 2 years now and I feel like shit, especially now that I'm working from home. Especially sitting on a computer for 8 hours minimum a day, and then sitting again for whatever hours I'm gaming lol.
Warm weather helped a lot, hooped hard every other day. this will be a tough winter. I aint going back to the gym though...not even really COVID fear, just regular ass cold and flu fears. I don't like getting sick like that.
We had a couple months of lockdown on the gyms but they reopened and don't see them closing again (benefit of a red state i guess) but i always figure if we had a long term lockdown I'd just use it to work on my cooking/dieting rather than doing half-assed at home workouts
Time for a personal and collective slaent goal perhaps for next year?
Personal:
Splits on both sides
Collective:
For data to reach 300 pounds and everyone on slaent to feel good and happy about themselves 🙂

Started using MyFitnessPal to track calories again.
I over eat and my portions are almost always huge, Turkish food is beyond amazing for those who aren't in the know, impossible to stay fit. Tracking what I eat is the only way for me to make sense of the calories in/out, I'm a very visual person and the data provided by MyFitnessPal is pretty great.
My goal is to drop about 15 pounds, I've done it in the past and I can do it again. What sucks is it's the 15 pounds that goes straight to the gut, so it's the last place I'll lose the fat. Too bad gyms closed, I'll likely lose whatever muscle I had built too - though muscle comes back fairly fast so once gyms open back up I should be good to go for spring.

gyms are a whole lot more lax on the guest/drop-in policy than I ever imagined
time to try all of them
time to try all of them
I know I’m in an overall effective vein of training because I PRd on squat today without intentionally training towards it 🤨
