Deadlift easily my favorite of the 3 major lifts. I recommend to everyone to learn how to perform RDL’s correctly before you start deadlifting.
By Lunatic Go To PostDeadlift is a GOAT exercise definitely the best compound lift. The gains on your core from it are amazing honestly the most gains on my abdominals and obliques came from this. It does make you a bit wider though so like more boxy in your midsection. Just watch tutorials on how to do the lift. It doesn't really get dangerous until you pass 315lbsMost i've deadlifted is 350lbs and pretty sure that was around the time I first tweaked my lower back :(. Gonna be extra careful now since I'm approaching 315lbs again and I'm gonna be using hook grip. Felt so much better using it versus mixed grip.
I'm too scared to deadlift but everyone talks about the gains man.
Broke bench pb and able to do 120kg now. Body is starting to take shape but still need way more mass I think but I think my perception if my size is skewed. Feel mad skinny still.

If you just do the bar and like 10 pounds each side, it's enough to start out.
i like deadlifting but probably have a lot of mistakes in my form. i don't go heavy though so no injuries, rep 120kg but will probably never bother testing a 1 rep max.
I'm not going to go for PR's on DLs.
I just do 70 KG mostly for 8 reps max trying to keep the form as correct as possible.

Funny enough I just hit 4 plates/405 on my deadlift .
I only started doing heavy deadlifts recently due to it blowing my back out. But I found one spot in my back to pop before I workout and it hasn't happened since. My bench is my strongest but deadlift is the peak size builder which is what I want.
My squat is still complete fucking garbage though

You skrong. I’m only doing 225 for reps because I’m scared to attempt 3 plates or more and blow my back out.
By Blue Go To PostYou skrong. I’m only doing 225 for reps because I’m scared to attempt 3 plates or more and blow my back out.Do you have a belt? Get a belt. I hate equipment but weightlifting belt is pretty much standard if you want to raise your deadlifts. I only use it for my 1-3 RM lifts.
I don’t have a belt. Honestly, I’m not too concerned with trying to hit PR’s on the main lifts right now. I run anywhere from 15-30 miles a week so I’m probably not training effectively to hit PR’s on deadlift anyway.
405 1RM was my max which at 155 body weight when I was in the best shape of my life and I use straps past 315. Don't care about grip past that as I care more about the form as it is dangerous. Not to knock anyone going without them but back injuries are serious. Wouldn't even think about doing that again without a belt these days.
Just deadlifted 260lbx2 on my 3rd week 5/3/1 amrap set. First time using hook grip on it and it felt so good. Felt way more in control vs mixed grip.
Well shit I had a feeling I was stronger than before covid and checking my old fitocracy records confirmed it. I didn't go to the gym for a little over a year. I'm using Strong Pro now and across the board I got stronger even though I'm cutting atm. I knew something was up when I was on starting strength longer than usual. What surprised me the most was my friends thought I needed to deadlift to prove my sobriety. Yes their roommate conveniently had a barbell and plates lol. I ended up deadlifting up to 275lbsx3 cold and until then I hadn't lifted anywhere near that in training.
During quarantine the only workouts I did were Ring Fit and Fitness Boxing 2 on my Switch. So I'm pretty surprised at my current results.

Sounds good! I can consistently do 15 pull-ups dead hang. Took forever and I can almost get the 16th!
Now on to 20, for me that would be an awesome achievement.

yes lads
i did my first muscle up today
form was a little sus, think i need to lean more onto my chest when transitioning, but feels good to finally have it done

One day I want to do a muscle up. Maybe I can finally do one after I lose all this fat/weight. Besides that I tested my current 1RM for deadlifts and settle for 285. Might have been to do 290-295 but I tried 315 and 300 knew it was going to end in failure. Also again if you guys aren't using hook grip I can't recommend it enough. Now it's like second nature to me and makes me wish I switched to it years ago since my pulls feel so much stronger vs mixed grip.
Kind of want to train my grip strength by doing the same training pro hand wrestlers use but I'm afraid of creating early onset carpal tunnel or something. I'm a developer, so I'm already pushing things as is, even though I no issues so far *knock on wood*.
What the fuck, John Meadows died. He was a huge name in the industry and seemingly one of the more sincere older guys

He had a heart attack recently.
Gear is no bueno, lads.
I started doing the Brogains program(a powerbuilding program). There's one day a week dedicated just to squats. Shit's kicking my ass. I try to go 100% at work and the gym and then when I'm on my off day, I'm just exhausted 2 hours after waking up from everything piling up.
Progress has been great. Body weight down 20 pounds, 2 plate bench feels better than ever

Started doing dips for the first time in my life. Was always scared because I didn’t want to mess up my shoulders which have given me problems in the past. Pretty nice exercise, I stand upright with a narrow grip to emphasize the triceps more.

man I fucking love dips.
That feel when you realize your goals aren't realistic as a natty and that day is eventually going to come

Anyone have tips for what at home equipment would be good to help with weight loss? I was thinking resistance bands, some small weights and a medicine ball.

Get a weight vest and go for walks with it on, you'll shed weight pretty quickly.
Dips causes my left bicep to tingle and then the top of my index and thumb finger get numb. Why brehs? 🥺

pinching a nerve or something?
Something about nerves. Tip of thumb and index finger and forearm still slightly numb. Gonna stop performing dips for now then. 😞
By domino Go To Post20 of that 25 is back. Never actually did a proper cut and bulk before. I look wild. Always been in good aesthetic shape but I get comments left and right rn. Xmas maxes (245 Bench / 300 squat) will be a breeze when I do decide to test them should I'm comfortably repping 90% of that now. Thinking of 255 and 315 in a month or so.Hit 255 Bench fairly easy actually. I think I have up to 270 in the bag just based on how it moved.
Squats still need some work to get back to/above 300. I know I’m stronger than I was at Xmas but accessing it on squats is tough as hell.

As a beefy boy, dips have never felt good to me. I get more joint pain off them than heavy bench presses. They're probably alright if you're lean though

Brother in law heard me say my knee was sore from working out with my nephews (his sons) and wanted to play king of the court the next day to try and take advantage. He hit the first point started talking shit, and after that I performed like Mike anyone Tyson, Jordan, Jackson. Absolutely was cooking him and my nephew's with mid range jumpers off step backs, pullups and post spins. I paid the iron price and my knee is even worse but it was worth it to hear my nephew's ooh and ahhh since I normally go half speed vs them and I turned it on this time.

Was looking forward to bust out a bunch of dips but nah. Not worth it.

my knee was absolutely throbbing after a 13 hour flight and a some bullshit hike I had to do before taking off. just wanted to sit my ass down and sleep after diving in some BBQ. I knew what I had to do though. My brother's last recollection of me playing ball is me strolling in and cooking him absolutely senseless on his own goal.
had to be me.
my cousins would've got styled on and his ego already the size of a Tahoe.

Such a great feeling, knowing that they think you an easy lick.
My brother in law hasn't wanted to play me since.
