I use the PHAT routine and just kind of change a few exercises as I see fit.
Also got my weights up to my pre-quarantine levels. My deadlift feels like I could do even more now.

Been doing an hour workout and cutting down on sugar and alcohol every day since May 1st. Haven't been this consistent in years. I'm getting definition back but man it's hard to lose these love handles that appeared the second I turned 26
Caught a glimpse of my lower back in the mirror
🤢 I gotta stick with this cut . Being built with extra fat just makes the bad bits really stand out

By domino Go To Postreally just row variations, pullupsNever done lateral raises for back, I'll try it out, looks dope.
chinups and lateral raises to help that wide back cobra look from the lats
By Omzz Go To PostTry lat pull downs, deadlifts, back extensionsYeah I need to do back extensions, helps a lot with lower back for that office life.
Deadlifts I'm kind of wary about, need to work on my form first.
Get a trainer for like a month and tell him you want to focus on your deadlift. Some exercises you shouldn't fuck around with, deadlifts are at the top. The only times I ever hurt myself at the gym were deadlifts.
Also I always wear a belt for them no matter how much weight I'm lifting . Now that I'm more trained on them, my back has gotten really good results just from deadlifting.

By Lupercal Go To PostDeadlifts I'm kind of wary about, need to work on my form first.Yeah back exercises I've learned not to fuck around lol, really cautious with them. Practice the form just using the bar and slowly add weight to it.
I've been thinking about saving up for a Peloton. Something to do when I'm stuck indoors. I just dont know how heavy they are to move around.
So far my cut has been really easy and cheap??? I'm not even eating a lot of full meals just a mish mash of things.
Wake up, skip breakfast. Work til 7 am, go on a 10 minute break and eat a banana and maybe have a calorie less energy drink. Go to lunch, finish the energy drink off and eat like a protein bar and a yogurt or a microwave burrito that's high in protein or a one of those protein lunchables. Go home, cook something like bacon & eggs maybe eat another banana or a wheat cake with peanut butter. Go to the gym, come home and drink a protein shake with a cup of milk and 2 scoops of whey.
Puts me under 2000 calories, I'm not hungry at all and I usually still get about 150g of protein. And I like everything that I eat.

lengths i'm going to on my current cut are pretty desperate--ECA stack, psyllium husk and greek yogurt for fullness, but it's working
for the folks that do ring work or are looking for some back ideas

There is no air left in my lungs nor blood left in my chest

Upright db press/upright db fly/pushups
db chest press/cable fly
db curl/db skullcrushers/db hammer throws/cable tricep extension
10 reps except the second flies, i did a drop set on those
all with 4 second excentric movements. pushups and hammer throws were the worst

By batong_doicare Go To PostIt's all about resistance; the body doesnt know if it's free weights you are using or your body to have your muscles in flexion. It's most certainly easier to increase the weight resistance on free weights but with the right body weight exercise you can definitely increase muscle mass as well.
But like you can only build so much with your body resistance, like me doing 100 press ups pretty comfortably means my chest is not going to get any bigger without more weight
I've been mostly sugar clean(outside of natural sugars like fruits and the occasional yogurt) for about 2 weeks, as well as sticking to my 500 calorie cut really well. Went over to my parents for the 4th, ate wings, 2 rice krispires treats and some of those little bags of m&m peanuts. Then on the way home I went to the gas station and bought a milkshake and a big bag of those m&m peanuts and ate all of that.
Don't go to your parents house. It's not even the snack at the time, maybe it's just me but it feels like if I break once then I can justify continuing to indulge bad habits. But I'm back to the routine now.

finally able to get back to the weights. shoulders still a bit sore but i at least have full strength now. just can't do pullups because that particular movement really aggravates it
think i'm just going to continue bulking since it seems like sports are a wrap for the year.

Yeah, that's how I'm seeing it aswell, keep bulking throughout winter and start a cut around March.
Although there are 3 new beautiful women at my gym now, might need to exercise some restraint on food.

By Splatt Go To PostWhy is stretching so boring : (It takes zen.
Go with the zen my bruv.
Also, use your nose breathing.
I have stuffy nose since forever :(
I will try with zen and doing stretching in the morning since I'm WFH until the end of year at least.

By data Go To PostI never stretchJokes on you when you start getting injuries and your muscles are tight all the time.
im trying to dodge bread. i don't like this
By data Go To PostI never stretchyou are setting yourself up to get bodied
I've been doing stretching exercises and some upper back exercises before I start work every morning and it's been a game changer. My flexibility has improved a ton and I am barely doing entry-level stuff. It's more important than you know.
Dude this post work workout thing isn't gonna work . Even after eating some carbs and taking an energy drink I have like zero energy and motivation. I'm gonna have to start getting up at 2 am or something
done pretty much no exercise since lockdown started, but gyms finally opening on saturday... think I might start with a few weeks of starting strength, mainly worried about my joints forgetting how to move

I'm gonna have to start getting up at 2 am or somethingdo you take preworkout? I used to feel the same way after workouts no matter how much I tried to replenish, but preworkout got me feelin fresh even when I'm done with a tough session, and that's without a caffeine based mix which I'd imagine would work even better
Pre workout can help but you start getting used to it pretty quick.
Stop the energy drinks Data, fucks over your whole system. Always puts me in a zero energy state aswell after like an hour.

preworkout is basically an energy drink on roids tho lol
Well it depends on how you do your pre workout, it's there to warm up your body and prep yourself for the actual workup. Now if you go running for 5 km thats an actual workout and not a pre workout.
this fool fucked up the bag so hard he gotta go be a fitness influencer and youtuber now
anyway what am i supposed to be feeling in a plank? bc i mostly feel it in my shoulders long before i feel it in my abs. am i supposed to brace my core like im squatting?
By domino Go To PostYou're supposed to brace your abs. You'll definitely feel it in your shoulders first though. I know I do(though my shoulders are also pretty weak). Honestly the best/most effective core workout I've found so far has been leg raises.

really looking forward to getting in a gym session this Saturday, before football. Done fuck all but cycling since "lock-down". Have cycled about 1,500 miles though. Legs like a shitty bronze statue of a footballer.
