By Mangoverboard Go To PostWhats your injury DY?the big one was a sternoclavicular dislocation - basically my collarbone came halfway out of my chest. broken elbow and all the range of motion stuff that comes with it
part of the reason I got into gym work a few years back was to help recover from a dislocated shoulder. My shoulders were ridiculously off balance with each other months. That was a long slow road.
Arms day tomorrow, its the best one!
the balance issues were crazy though lol. doctor (the single good one i had) basically told me to not even try going down stairs unassisted for a month until i learned how to walk again. if you look close, my left shoulder is still 2cm higher than my right
yeah i'll never be caught dead doing cleans
i have to go back to humble mode on my squats and deads. my squats have hit a brick wall and resulted in some pain after the last workout--typically means I need to hydrate more, stretch, and literally cut the weight in half, up the reps and just work on dominating form for a bit.

By Trey Go To PostTime to bust out these interval sprints. Pray for me, brehsyou said you do these on an outdoor track right?
I've been getting into them lately too. Currently do 1 minute at speed 9.5 on a treadmill with 1 minute walking at 4.0 and do 8 intervals. My current goal is to get up 10 intervals 1 min sprint/1 min rest at speed 10.0.

yeah. Sprint 100m, jog 100m, sprint, jog...
die eventually but so far I have a friend upstairs. it's conditioning work before I get into the real track work out. I've definitely been out of competitive running shape.
confession. i've been on a treadmill maybe twice in my entire life.
but yo, knocked out these squats today and it felt great. i warmed up on 185 to see how my knees and hips felt but shit was all good so i just went for reps at 225 x12x4. just getting the form down and rust knocked off was awesome. loved not having to worry about shit today. did some leg extensions too but that's always gonna be a pain tolerance thing - when i can do it, it helps and really, really pays off.
iron mikes <3. think i could bang out a basketball court and some change now if i tried. did about a dozen 50 meter treks spread between workouts
and deadlifts
i will NEVER feel like i'm doing these right. but i played around on some fisher price weights and never did a set over 95lbs to be on the safe side
#getting there
oh and After Glow is easily my favorite postworkout drink of all time. i got a ton of injuries to deal with so i'm never looking forward to the day after a good day at the gym. i recommend to people every chance i get. its that damned good

there's not a thing about fitness that's murder besides straight long range cardio
dieting--now that's the one thing holding me back

I fucking hate stairs. Every morning, right foot first every time. Too fucking stiff and achey to walk down them properly lol.
Fucking love long rage cardio fam. Hour long run is the only time in the day where my mind slows down and I get to enjoy some tunes in a combined state of chill and sitting on the edge of gassing.

Complete opposite here, hate long range cardiovascular. Gimme them sprints all day.
Actually I have sprints in the morning, fuck.

i can elliptical for an 45-1hr at a time but i need some good music, new album or something
running for distance is terrifying to me. even sprints... ugh. i didn't even know what sprints on machines meant until i saw one of my peers gauge everything off of her heart rate.

Gonna try and eat better and exercise more regularly.
I had InNOut twice in a week and I was like....maybe I shouldn't live so free.
Did a half hour of yoga today after a long time away and feel like a punk.

here's to a new week in pursuing your goal, fam.
sprinting to start the week off right. coming off a bender of sorts of a weekend. Felt the spirit of Moris watching over me as I tipped back that fifth of bourbon.

Played my first ball in 2 months. I took a solid month off due to the move and another month was pure lifting.
FUCK
I counted 20 shots before my arms got tired lol. Didn't sprint once all day. I'm officially an oldhead.

By Trey Go To PostSweat is probably actual bacon grease now.I mean, SOME of that is muscle. But yeah its mostly just fat and a fuckton of water lol
I had no idea I was that far below my normal weight though. I always figured I was a typical 160 or so, but I'm REALLY fucking active so I guess it makes sense. Gotta really ease off my knee for a while though. I was doing shit at 170 that I wouldn't have tried at 150 and I'm paying for it.
Gym got some new weights and machines. Cool stuff but I'm still gunna change to my Uni gym in September. Can't wait to drown in the Olympic size swimming pool

What's the scale? Kph/mph or just a speed setting on the treadmill?
I used to do 1 minute @ 13.5kph followed by 1 minute at 9kph for a total of 10 minutes. Was getting places then fucked my knee :D :D
Age: 26
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 158.7 lbs
Goals: Gain 10 lbs in 9 months (it's a bet)
Diet: I barely have food, but that's another story
Exercise of choice: I'm pretty sedentary, but I bike a lot. I got gym access from my school now though. Want to do a good mix of home workouts and full body stuff.

fuckkkkkkkk i've basically had two weeks of funerals, weddings, parties, birthdays, and today was the only day family and I could go for Pizza Hut buffet
But lost 19 pounds since the start of July and doing well to keep it off regardless.

they offering 400 dollars minimum for the biggest loser at the company i work with--3 months of weigh ins ending the day before halloween
i've done nothing but gain muscle and fat for like two years now--basically cut until my favorite holiday and get paid to do it? if I can't get to 8-10% body fat now I never will.

That's a pretty good deal Phase, extra motivation is always nice.
Waiting for the Uni gym to email with prices for the semester. Hoping pool and indoor running track access isn't too much extra

welcome. No time like the present to become body and health conscience. Sedentary is cool, it's relaxing, but working out is cool too.
Ever been in a gym or done weight resistance exercising before?
Updates:
Hit 220 on the seated triceps press 10 times and hate life.
My knees are screwed as pistol squats take too much out of me.
My whole situation is weird because I leg press 185, leg extension 200 10 times, leg curl 110, yet cannot squat more than 125.
I need to work on calisthenics because clearly my strength distribution is wrecked.
I'm going through a quarter life crisis and might take up skateboarding in the near future.

last time i had to cut i was going through a chronic illness and a bout of depression and dropped like 30 pounds like ti wasnt nuffin
one thing im struggling with now is like--i feel like the only way i can lose weight is to legit starve myself. i ate like 700 calories yesterday and my body felt like i wasn't gonna lose weight--i know that can't be right, so i'll keep at it, but damn, i feel like I need that legit starving feeling to get anywhere
first weigh in in two weeks, if results are garbage then ima have to go to plan b:

good luck, man. I know I couldn't do it.

Dark Phase adjust your diet. Remember 3.5 servings is enough to make you full no matter how many calories. Try drinking Soylent as well. I drink 3200+ calorie protein shakes I'm kinda scared for you.
that was only a day--a lot of diets start on straight up fasts so idk why yall trippin lol
but yea, idk if i can go that route like I did back when i didnt have responsibilities because as a student and full time worker I damn near passed out yesterday

Soylent 2.0 is that hotness. It's 400 calories in a bottle. Imagine working out while drinking Soylent. You could in theory drink Soylent right after a workout and be straight for the day.
