2019 was great for me. First year I've been going to gym consistently and eating better too. Here's to more positive gains for everyone
Added a bit of stretching in december with lacrosse ball and elastic bands, it's done wonders for my shoulders, back and hamstrings.

I wish I was flexible enough for Yoga :(
I'm just doing a couple of stretches from Antranik's video mixed with a few random ones I knew before

I want to form a habit first, then I'll try to introduce more advanced stuff.

Namaste.
By Kidjr Go To PostBack in the gym after a five year hiatus, I'm generally quite fit so its more just muscle mass/definition I want to rebuild. You could get some Tes to supplement that.
Used to be pretty big after my stint inside (and carried on going to the gym upon release) so figure I kinda know what I need to do to get to where I wanna be.
However recover time is definitely not what it once was, so body has been in pieces since first two sessions. Barely been able to sleep muscles are so sore but I'm getting back to normality on day three of recovery.
The older you get, the worst the recovery is from that first workout back...
A smart man might say "dammit, stop spending so many weeks / months / whatever away from the gym and you won't have to worry about that shit"
A lazy man might say "you're fucking sore as hell, take the 4 days, pat yourself on the back, you did good"
#teamlazy

Depends on how long you're gone. Deload weeks are a pretty common thing and they can be really beneficial
I've never really been one for taking things (in relation to exercise lol) just find it a chore. How will testosterone help with recovery? I find this only happens once and after I'm back in the swing things I'm never sore again tbh.

You ain't going to work out to lift weights. You're going to break muscle down.
So recovery's more important than people think. Took me 2 years to figure that out.

How can fitness buffs always tell when enhancers have been used. Steroids thankfully scars the shit out of me and the side effects I hear about.
Also skipping in the goat cardio exercise, been teaching myself for a few weeks and its amazing how quickly you can pick something up when you have time and your consistent with it.

Everyone bigger than me is on PEDs
By Lunatic Go To PostLook at that HGH gut.lol, how you guys know when someone is using it?
When you've been lifting long enough it's easy to tell when something looks unatural. Unless you are some kind of genetic freak ain't nobody putting on insane amounts of mass through natural means. Also HGH gut is just easy as fuck to spot as your abdomin looks distended.
Nothing against PEDs 💉💉💉 mind you. Honestly would get on that hollywood doctor regime if I was rich enough.

My co-worker goes to the same gym as me. I think he's 21 or something like that. Looks great. Looks like he could probably compete at one of those entry level BB competitions. One of my best friends from middle school is a sponsored bodybuilder/fitness model. Tiny waist/huge chest. Neither ever really sparked much motivation from me to 'get like that' though. But I do respect their hustle.
But I saw this big 6'4" Samoan looking dude OHPing 300 pounds yesterday and that got me in the gym bumping up all my weights.

I mean I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination however during my stint inside I put on a good amount of mass. Alot infact, and so did alot of other people. That was pretty gyming every day for nearly two years. Sometimes twice day.
I think people stop getting bigger, and this is just a theory here... muscle memory almost, I remember I'd hit a barrier so would have to do change up the type of exercise I was doing which would often help.
Eventually you reach a real point of diminishing returns and that typically is when gym heads tend to get extra help.
I see
Also taken me a few weeks but now managing to put away 3.5k calories a day of (which my fitness app tells me I need fo eat to gain mass the quickiest).

Sometimes I see folks looking comically big, struggling lifting what looks to be way less than they should be

The extended gut when they're still showing a six pack is also one, lots of acne, mood swings, rapidly losing mass when they're off cycle etc etc ..
There's this 20 year old that comes in my gym during summer, looking like a white Kai Green. I see him sometimes in the grocery store during his off cycle, looks about 30 kg lighter.
This C4 ripped has been life changing. General lethargy in the morning has killed my motivation. New routine is to wake up early, mix my drink and browse the web for 30 minutes until my face starts itching lol.
With that and then lifting in the morning, my appetite was dead until early evening. Stimulants and lifting/running provide a kind of appetite suppressant that’s a really positive feeling. Chemically as soon as I ended it and ate with a bit of sugar in the meal, I was getting those same awkward “hungry but not hungry must eat more” signals. And y’all know the feeling...it’s really insidious and subtle and just builds on itself.
Wish I had a means of killing that feeling without stimulant and workout, but for now I just hope to stay in the gym enough to off set any cheat days and keep cutting weight.

I know that appetite stuff. Can absolutely ruin you. I remember cutting sugar and withdrawal was immense. After going through it I never got those hungry not hungry signals again.
Well, until stress pushed me back into eating garbage and meat again 😫
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostYea, cutting sugar entirely seems to be the actual long term answer to that, but….fuck
Hard as fuck. Had to tie it in with intermittent fasting to get anywhere. 2 weeks of misery opening up to infinite energy and alertness, so worth it.

how often do you eat fruits?
so i have 3 or 4 weeks to get ready for a flag football tournament.
what kind of cardio work should i do? figure you can't really pace yourself through that like soccer.

Very rarely. If i'm double booked for football, i'll take a banana for the 5 minute downtime between games. If i do a big ride on the bicycle, like 40+ miles, i'll pack a banana and an apple. Otherwise i don't touch fruit outside of those instances.
By Smokey Go To PostWhat's a decent price for a personal trainer?60-80 for a session seems about right.

You're even skipping all those delicious fruits during summer?
Damn. Had a small break of 3 weeks from the gym over the holidays. Really need to do more cardio. No problem getting back into lifting, but my stamina decreased ;_;

I do the same with my massage sessions.
Astounded how much you gain when eating to a stricter calorie count. Using my fitness pal to track what I eat and gave me the rough guidline of how many calories I consume.
Currently doing around 3.5k calories a day which took a day or two to get to and mixing with shakes and creatine. It's a drain, feel like I'm constantly eating/snacking but I'm getting passed monotony of it.
