yeah i tried the motion a few times just to fuck around and i just didnt see a need to add it to my repertoire.
After spending an entire year doing rehab work on my shoulders I'm pretty scared of the clean and jerk too. But hey, at least I have traps now.
I think the clean and jerk has value if you've been properly trained to do it but man why the fuck would you put 3 plates on each side for it? You get enough work out of it just doing 135.

its basically mad max + fitness
Basically my thoughts too. If I could find a decent olympic lifting coach I'd make an effort to get it in my repertoire. Otherwise I'm not touching it with a 10 foot pole.
By Pac-12 Go To PostWhy did you go straight from old man strength to Christberg.
Jokes, I'm giving props to him. Since most of us are 20s-30s on here.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI was telling Adam yesterday that I got true fear of that entire motion
F this.
Before I knew anything about fitness, I went to a Crossfit class and they made us do that the first day with crappy form and some weight. Jacked my shoulder up for a year.
new shit:
Mondays: 15 minutes cardio, incline bench, flat bench, decline bench, flys (chest day)
Tuesdays: 15 minutes cardio, bicep curls, tricep extensions, shoulder press, shrugs (arm day)
Wednesdays: 15 minutes cardio, deadlift, lat pull down, bent over barbell rows, low back extension, ab planks, ab machine (back/core day)
Thursdays: Leg press, squat, leg extension, leg curls, calf raises (leg day)
Friday: Cardio focused day
Weekend: Rest
Sucks still not having finished this cut. I'm getting there--will be there by the time it's definitively spring. I just want to get to a point where I'm actually gaining strength again instead of just maintaining or making very minimal gains. I've been at the same level of muscle/strength for like three years now. Not being able to gain much more weight due to maximizing what I could really do without a quality fat cut.

By DY_nasty Go To PostGotta warm up right
That and Im sitting on my ass so much between work school and videogames that a little movement just feels necessary. With it warming up I'll be replacing that time with hoops sooner rather than later I hope.
Has anyone actually come close to matching goal body weight with something nearing an equivalent in protein eaten a day?
So much damn meat

Man Keeping Running Total Of How Many People In Gym In Worse Shape Than Him
ENCINITAS, CA—Intently scanning the room for signs of fatigue or excessive perspiration, local gym member Brian O’Grady reportedly kept a tally Monday of how many people were in worse shape than him. “That guy’s been on the seated bike for like a minute and he’s already out of breath, and that old dude’s doing like 30 pounds on the shoulder press machine—so, yeah, that’s two,” O’Grady thought to himself, leaping suddenly into double digits as he counted 15 people limply moving their arms and legs in a Zumba class. “And I bet I could easily outlast four of these people on the ellipticals, plus two, maybe three on the treadmills—oh, and definitely the guy who’s been on the rower two minutes and could have a heart attack any time now.” At press time, O’Grady had determined that a muscular woman doing numerous weighted pull-ups was a professional athlete of some sort and would not count against him.

I see you 💪 CB.
One day I'll be there.
Good job bro, unlike a certain dude whose name rhymes with halo and hasn't gymmed for 6 months.
Lol P12, what's your poison of choice at the gym?
I sort of haven't lifted shit in damn near a year.
I really, really, really need to put those squat stands together. I also am really, really, really not looking forward to the soreness after that first workout back. I'm too old for this.
Edit:
These are the stands.
I had a half-rack in my townhouse, got rid of it after I put the house up for sale and moved. I kept the adjustable bench and the weights, bought these stands, but my laziness knows no bounds.

What my workout partner's BF thinks we do
When in reality its actually its just me and her trolling each other for an hour a day into becoming our best selves.
Anyway, I've learned to love the exercise bike this week, especially after tweaking my groin in Monday's game. Figure I'd enjoy that more than just straight running to get my cardio up quick for soccer and I definitely notice a major difference already from game 1 to game 2. Nobody pulled some vanishing bullshit on me this week. Probably won't do much hard lower body weight workouts until the season is over just to stay loose. May get a spin class package just to switch things up a bit. That and yoga should keep me loose down low.

Uncle Smirnoff loosely assembled the squat stands last night and I finished the job tonight and got in a light workout.
Probably won't be able to walk for a few days, though.

good looking out, got some whey and some low cal almond milk
still hard to cut while trying to hit these protein macros but ill try
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postthat stuff is always good but its not sustainable to be using them long term–too expensive.
Walmart has them cheaper than other places. And at least in my part of America, Publix is better than Harris-Teeter across the street. I don't know, getting protein like this is certainly more convenient than having to mix it yourself, but I'm willing to take another look at it.
the first 30 minutes of basketball after leg day was like taking super soldier serum
the body remembers how hard that leg press pump was and by comparison an explosive first step is like dropping off Piccolo's shoulder pads
but then it wears off and you're just a man again

season ends monday
back up to 161
first 3 games were brutal. probably the worst ball i've played in some time.
last 3 games i've scored 4 goals. gonna join another league as soon as this one ends so i don't end up back at square 1 on stamina/tekkers
kind of falling in love with biking. thinking about getting a road bike since i live in a pretty nice area. i always see people out biking

I bike regularly. I use a mountain bike as there's a lot of bridle paths, woodland routes and dirt paths to take off the roads. Benefit of living on the edge of green belt land. Wish i never stopped cycling in my teens :(

Yeah you gotta get rid of juice. If im gonna drink poorly I'm just gonna drink soda instead of juice.
Mostly just drink water, black coffee and alcohol now.

No chocolate milk? 🤔
I briefly got into sweet tea then I remember looking at the sugar contents of an Arnold Palmer.
Drink that Stevia Sweet Tea though. Tastes better to me.
