The good news is everything's looking good
the bad news is my stomach and love handles still look shitty so now it just stands out more

By Cooter Go To PostHey guysWelcome Cooter!. Hopefully the rest of fitgaf comes over. Were currently trying to salvage any communities that have fractured to come over here. Sean responded and looks like he'll be over here soon too.

By Cooter Go To PostSure hope so. I'd be crushed if FitGaf was no more.I was able to make a post in the current thread directing people to come over and also reached out to BumRush. I'm hoping the site stays up long enough so everyone can be directed here so at the very least people don't lose contact.
Welcome fam.
Work has been absolutely brutal so I've only got 1 workout in the past 3 weeks. Next week, back to the grind, and the soreness :(

I missed my workouts all week. (Wasn't exactly missing them, Bob.) I had days off from work and I always seem to get slack when that happens, at least this year.
Back to the grind Monday, though.

By Cooter Go To PostHey guysCoots!
Squats tomorrow, kill me. My upper back slightly hurts if I turn my head left/right. 100 % sure I did something wrong when I did shoulder press two days ago.

Do this like twice in a year where I just take a week off (more if I'm traveling abroad but that's more because of inconvenience)

By SeanR1221 Go To PostCoots!Missed you man. How's life?
So I just hit day 21 at the gym. Feeling good after my lazy 2017. Almost where I want to be.
Anyone able to contact the rest of fitgaf?. I'm trying to find if any regulars posted a twitter handle or something.
edit: Just remembered Brolic had a youtube channel so messaged him on there.

Life’s great! Still in maintainance. Well. Mostly. It’s easy to put on a little weight this time of year ;)

By BumRush Go To PostI'm on mobile, is there a way to subscribe to a thread like on gaf?Nope. Though if you have any issues or requests check here. This site was built from scratch by Reilo and Sharp. And Sharp is busy getting his phd so Reilo and now kibner are the only 2 developers working on it when they have free time.

Getting back into the gym routine after ignoring it for school the past month. Had to switch over to a 3 day routine. Still it feels like I lost most of the progress I made in that 1 month off, especially on the squat.
I feel like my arms are the my weak body part and that includes biceps, triceps and shoulder. Should I focus on them 2 times a week?
I'll leave my workout here:
Monday - Back, abs
Tuesday - Chest
Wednesday - Shoulders, abs
Thursday - Legs
Friday - Biceps, Triceps and abs
Should I cut down on abs training, replacing it for biceps or triceps workout?

Thinking about joining the Switch train a little earlier than I wanted to. What do I NEED? Screen protector, SD card, what else?

Triceps, biceps....
Needs more leg days.
By RoyalJCC Go To PostI feel like my arms are the my weak body part and that includes biceps, triceps and shoulder. Should I focus on them 2 times a week? How are you training them? Reps, sets, and exercises? You can definitely hit them twice a week if needed. Highly recommend standing Over Head Press for shoulders. Get your form down and load that barbell up. My shoulders really hit another level when I made OHP the focus of my shoulder workouts.

Smart man. Mario will be great and BotW is probably the best game I've ever played. We don't have any of that. You should be fine.
By Splatt Go To PostBeing on a cut sucks :(What weight are you cutting from and what end weight you aiming for?

Okay sweet!! I'll start with Zelda and take it from there

78kg -> 74kg
I've been sleep deprived for 3 weeks and haven't had a chance to work out consistently in a month. Gonna try again today. Pray for me.
By Splatt Go To Post78kg -> 74kgI'm sitting around 90kg at 5'8. Been thinking about losing weight but imn not convinced on doing it yet and if so how much.

I guess it depends on your goals.
I want to try and slim down as much as possible before the big holidays hit, I am too weak to ignore all the bad food that's going to be on plate in that period lol
Also, I play a lot of football/soccer and basketball with friends, so being a bit slimmer should help with my stamina.
Workout went well today although I had zero motivation. Squats and chin-ups aside everything else felt pretty easy today. Thinking of adding another two leg exercises for my legs.
Anyone here doing the z-press instead of the standing/sitting barbell shoulder press or the sitting dumbell shoulder press?

Although not my only shoulder exercise I started with OHP and still do it but with more weight now obviously. Makes huge difference after a while.
By Randolph Freelander Go To PostTriceps, biceps….Yeah, I meant Triceps then biceps.

More leg days? What did I do to deserve that?

My shoulders workout consists of 6 exercises divided by heavy/medium-light exercises.
(4 sets of 10-15 reps each)
1 - Over Head Press
2- Over Head Press for rear delts (the one where the bar is behind your neck) or Bent Over Reverse Flyes
3 - Lateral Raises
If I still have some pump left I complement these with:
(3 sets of 12-15 reps each)
Seated Over Head Press on Smith machine
Seated Over Head Press on Smith machine for rear delts
Lateral raises with cables
I do these 3 with less weight and just for that burnout effect
About my biceps and triceps I go like this:
Biceps:
4 sets of 10-15 reps each
1 - Z bar barbel curl
2 - Standing Biceps Cable Curl
3 - Concentration Curl
4 - Hammer Curls
Triceps:
4 sets of 10-15 reps each
1 - Close grip bar press
2 - Bench dips
3 - Triceps push down (v bar)
4- Triceps pushdown (cable rope)
And I'm not counting the days when I do back and chest where I also workout my arms.
What's the over under on morning vs late afternoon workouts, same thing or is one better than the other? I'm going to be working and studying starting next year, my boss was pretty flexible with scheduling options, she already gave me an hour for work to college travel and now I have the option of either going to the gym in the early morning then to work(as I do now) and then college or clocking in an hour earlier then going to the gym and then college.

Stop doing behind the neck overhead press. High chance of injury and not necessary.
Second, on OHP lower your reps to the 3-5 range and go heavy once a week or every other week.

I can see why you can consider it dangerous. What exercises should I replace it with?
And going heavy is not my main goal now. Hypertrophy season until January - focusing more on time under tension than heavy weights (correct me if wrong)

That way I've had a decent amount of calories before working out. I hate working out in the morning because I'm never at my strongest. If working out in the morning is best then I'd stick with it. Also, working out in the morning probably means you don't have to take multiple showers throughout the day.
