Just finished a round of P90X after a long period of physical inactivity. Some depression/anxiety and personal problems got in the way, but man I feel way better.
Doing a week of cardio next week to try and burn some fat, then I'll likely subscribe to Beachbody On Demand to mix things up with a custom program. Been tracking my food as well and while I've only lost a few pounds my body composition is much improved.
I need to add a couple days of heavy gym lifting to my weight routine (especially squats and deadlifts) but I'll get there eventually.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postgood look..girl just got a costco membership…if what you say is true I'm coming out with 20 of them lolLol I know that feel. My Costco just got them in last week and I've already bought 3 packs including today.
By s y Go To PostIll check costco outGlad to see Halo Pint is available in your area. I hope your costco has them in stock.
I think I pulled something at the gym in my shoulder area. Went to work and felt ok last night
woke up this morning

My goals for the fall are to buy a weighted vest for my walks and a bike so I can get a higher intensity on a low volume cardio and then use the bike for high intensity cardio and try to do that every single day
cause i hate long distance running

Pulled a bicep. Looks like all cardio for the next 2 weeks :(
Long distance running is great, get some tunes on, a decent landscape and just stop thinking. Peace.

So basically ive been going to the gym free of cost. Barcode reader wasnt working so they typed in my info and no records were found.
Checked my bank account an didn't see one charge. They let me slide and said the system must be fucked up.

i'd stay away from weighted training (vests, ankle weights (lol)) unless you had professional supervision. it usually does more harm than good.
belts aren't necessary. useful to work sets but until you get passed the beginning gains, i'd just bare back it. once you're only getting +5 on your work sets every week, then i'd start using a belt.
proper form is 10000 percent more important.
By reilo Go To PostActually, reading up on weight lifting belts and the consensus seems to only use them if you're doing 75% of 1RM big lifts like squats or deadlifts… which I do. Does anyone have experience? Should I get one or should I focus on adding accessory lifts to improve my core in more minute ways?

Belts are potentially dangerous if your form isn't 100%. They can potentially cause you to injure yourself, by lifting weights your body can't handle on its own. Unless you're a powerlifter, I'd go belt-less.

their usefulness comes when you're doing heavy sets with correct form. 1-5 rep maximum weight. tightening up that core will make a difference. like anything else with weight training, they're a tool: not necessary, but helpful if used correctly.
always keep in mind, do not use belts as a substitute for poor form, or a crutch. you will weaken your lifts, gains, and open yourself up to injury.
By data Go To PostI can't do dips. My elbows dont bend that way
Does your gym have anything that can help you with it? The dipping/pullup scaffold at mine has a padded shelf for your knees that you can apply with weight as to make it easier for you.
I fucking love dips.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostI've always rekt dips. My squat is okay.
My dead lifts end me.
yeh dips are something i can bang out 50 of during a gym session and not give a fuck. Love them.

man something is wrong. There are weeks where I get very bad triceps strain. This has only happened the past two months, and I notice the pain after I do chinups which is weird since the focus is on my biceps then. This time it was so bad that I still felt some strain from the chinups I did on Monday when I did my workout yesterday. After I finished some heavier exercises (not triceps focused but puts some pressure on them) and was gonna ffinish with the usual triceps pushdown I couldn't even pull the rope down halfways down before feeling very bad pain. Again, some weeks I'm totally fine. This is frustrating.
In the same boat, I just took a week off to let my legs rest a bit and honestly I don't feel any better. Frustrating is the word. I'm gonna ease back into the gym next week after continuing stretches and not eating bullshit for a while.
Ditto. I skipped both legs days this week as my lower back and front felt completely borked. I think my psoas was completely and my body and legs are just starting to feel more normal as of today.
I really wish I could find reasonable masseuse prices
I've got a good one at 60 for an hour which isn't bad at all, but is a barrier to me going as much as I would like.

Your health insurance doesn't offer chiropractic care? Both my current and last job did. You get the massage as part of the coverage as long as you get a chiropractor that says you need one. Co-pays are $10-20 and with a $2500/yr cap it'd basically amount to a massage every two weeks. It's how I got regular massages back in Portland and about to find a chiropractor in SF that has massage services on sight.
By data Go To Postmy forearms hurt far more than my biceps doing bicep curlsThe body is a mysterious thing.
Noticed I'm breathing through my left ear after some intense cardio like running or stairmaster

i just can't control my eating for shit lately
same. I hit a specific weight and my body rebels by triggering a desire to eat shit 24/7 for a few weeks.
Good session today. Sucks doing bench press and inclined bench press alone, no one there to push your limits and you don't dare to increase in weight as fast.
Free month with trainer: "yeah you just work out a mix of stuff, no real need to focus. we'll do a little of everything 3-5 days a week"
First day of paid month: "LEG DAY UPPER BODY DAY LOWER BODY DAY"
you mother fucker

Treadmills cardio is the worst. Can't do more than 15 min before getting bored as fuck.
Past two months I've started doing bicep curl marathons again. Intense and tiring as hell but feels good.

I've changed treadmill cardio with swimming, probably my best decision in the last 3 months.
Now if only I could stop eating trash food...

By KingGondo Go To PostThey also make compression sleeves for your calves. If you're interested I can recommend some.
Sure thing.
Phaze, have you considered having your gate analyzed in order to help you find the appropriate footwear for your running style?
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostSure thing. These are the ones I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EBHPHZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_y81KzbP0E2CN7
Although I think the biggest factor in my shin splints lessening was strengthening my legs before I got back into running.
