I'll need to think it through some more but otherwise the Op will never be seen if it isn't on the first page.

More than half the vertical space on a 4k monitor @ 150% text size is taken up by the OP, though the auto-scroll to most recent post does help alleviate that a lot.
I think it should be okay as we put you in the correct last read post which bypasses the top of the page.

FWIW it's working on iOS Safari for me.
It's happening to me on iOS Safari but not Desktop Safari. I fixed the latter thinking it would fix the former. Unsure what it is yet, thought it was an issue with the session cookies being expired too early.
On iOS Safari it sure feels like the logout is related to memory collection happening and Safari clearing out the session indiscriminatly. Just got logged out after two hours which it shouldn't do at all, gonna have to dig deep as to why.
Oh interesting. Force closing and reopening Safari on iOS logs me out so definitely an issue with how the session is configured.
Tweaked the cookie session settings so now it doesn't clear the session anymore after I force-close iOS Safari. I think it should stop logging people out now.

I will say that is something that happens to me, too. I think mostly on iOS. It usually corresponds with a message at the top saying the page is using too much memory, I think.
