Better to have a thread than me shitting the gaming thread up with constant questions innit
Just bought it, hopefully loading my demo progress works. Did you guys specialise the MC in certain stats or make him an all-rounder? I've been doing the latter since he'll presumably be the only constant member of the party, and it'll be a bit annoying if he can only really move into magic or physical builds, and only front or back line.
The game's surfacing of statuses is a bit shit. Should probably describe them on the status screen rather than just naming them, since there's so many of them, they have so many different effects, and one misunderstood debuff can easily get your party and a lot of progress wiped.
Guessing the healer getting a light spell at level 1 was intentional to give players a cheap way to start expanding their archetypes in the first proper dungeon. I tried the battle at the end of the demo without enough light damage and with the red-haired lady not being able to do her synthesis piercing attack, and got rekt. Can you change the move order so your members with the best synthesis moves get to go when there are enough turns left, or are you supposed to work around that by passing your moves when you can't exploit a weakness to keep half a turn in the bank?

I'm doing mine as a white mage and seeker mix as an all around support + light magic
Doesnt feel optimal and regretting it a bit.

Just checked the preorder DLC, don't think I'll redeem it since I'm finding the resource availability quite balanced already. 5 revives, 5 good medicines, 30k currency and 3.5k A-EXP sounds like a lot.
Beat the first dungeon last Friday.
About to put 8 hrs in on this tonight lol
I do kind of miss the Personas/Demons though hopefully there are some of those in the game.

I think I want to try this game but am not sure i will like it. Haven't really been into JRPG's as much anymore. Love turn based combat though. How cheesy is it?
They should let you trade out Strohl for Brigitta
What kinda builds are yall running for the MC I need some ideas. So far Merchant with some elemental spells has been my favorite

I'm definitely nerfing myself. Damn near every point I get from leveling up goes into luck π€£

It's just more loot.
all I want on the MC is agility and luck. not going hard at any builds really because you're chasing weaknesses and the turn economy more than anything else - missing in this game is dramatically worse than doing poor damage. may as well restart a boss fight over it imo

Whenever I miss an attack I get genuinely angry at the character who let me down
Given everyone a level in Mage so I can kill the ice orbs before they escape. It won't come close to being worth the MAG, but they were annoying me.

Missing a dodge in this is more punishing than whiffing in sekiro. game goes from ezpz autoplay to digital devil saga 2 in half a turn
I based my leveling on my companions, I noticed they have 2 primary stats and a secondary. I don't know if it matters that much with the constant switching of archetypes
Hitch you can smack them with elemental physical attacks too so they don't have to be mages
I like running with a Faker. Or rather with one of his OP skills equipped lmao. My turn ends when I say it ends

We rarely argue
People give this game a lot of persona comps, but I love how it's the best 'hardcore casual' SMT experience. I rarely feel like the pacing is tool the developers used to numb me prior to story event or boss fight.
Like the game is definitely hard but you manage it the same as you tread water on the deep end. Also fuck - the music is great yeah but some of art and set pieces are masterworks.
You see itπ
Cancel persona 6 and keep making games like this

By DY_nasty Go To PostI'm not even in September yet. Easy game of the year100%
September has one of my fav tracks β¨οΈ
this fucking game keeps crashing my steam deck. only game that has done that so far, big SAD.
but i guess it is for the best, looked like trash cause you had to drop it down to 75% res

I like that they've streamlined the social links system for this game. You don't need to meet up 3 or 4 times to rank up in your relationship. Your answers to questions aren't as important and don't hinder that progress either.
I hope they keep that for Persona 6. P5 Royal is one of the best games I've ever played but there's a stupid amount of padding in it.

And they hit a good balance with Day, Night and Runner socials.
Maxed everyone except the little girl and I still have time but I'll continue to pretend she doesn't exist
game is not hard. until it is. but you deserve that shit every time
"boss will do heavy damage if you don't debuff it before its next turn!"
if atlus gives you a warning and you don't care, the minotaur is allowed to have its way with you. those are the rules.

Having a boss crit on its big AoE spam twice in a row is some fucking bullshit.
I expected to not like Heismay at all but so far he is the BEST BOY. Strohl and Hulkenberg are pretty dull, sadly.

Dy the last optional quests are vintage SMT

I managed to finish one Unscathed in one turn somehow (Faker's Roguery...) lmao I'll show you the recording when you're done!

That first 1000 damage hit π
Knight and Gunner, pierce weakness into a massive synch attack.
Not a fan of it throwing me into a bounty boss battle, pretty sure it didn't tell me that I was close to clearing enough of the normal enemies.
Can't remember how to get extra skill inheritance slots, could really do with some while I'm running this all-physical squad.
Great game. I'm inside the worm right now. Are there any timed quests that can expire because you don't have the stats to start them?
Lost so much bonus xp going into fights while poisoned π

No.
For some reason I've switched it up quite a lot with the MC and Strohl, but Hulk has been Knight more or less throughout. Need to get her Mage levelled up as well though.
Wonder if buffing someone with a hit-rate booster cancels out their low-accuracy skills. Not had much reason to use those skills yet, guessing they come into play late in the game and on hard mode. The Knight skill that draws aggro seems very useful, used it a couple of times against the Gobons and they were just hitting Hulk with basic attacks that she's resistant to.

Not only is the last dungeon (I think!) incredibly fun, but you will also level up your archetypes with like each encounter lmao. Trash mobs never tasted so good

Wow you really can't afford to be ambushed in inclement weather on hard mode
Got wiped by some butterflies

And yes Hitch you better learn how to buff and debuff and quickly lol
If you end up liking the heavy focus on combat on Hard here, consider trying an SMT. Vengeance is brilliant

Does inclement weather effect story dungeons like the waterway in Martira? Just getting to the second save room in there was a struggle, expect I'd get rekt if I go back in without even getting bonus moves for exploiting weaknesses.
About to do the grotto to the south east, kinda wish the game didn't just tell you which archetypes to use after buying info and checking the quest log. Quite a lot of the time the messages in battle disappear before I can read them, especially when trying to Steal.
goty, sorry Astro

I stopped noticing how bad it looks after about twenty hours, so well played Atlas you cheap cunts
In-engine cutscene direction is much better now than it was in the first ten hours as well which seems a bit weird.

Hauled the ps5 up to my parents' with me because I didn't want to go two weeks without playing it π
This joanna storyline wtf
Stopped bothering attacking the eyes after a couple of regenerations, only had one person with pierce damage so it was taking too many turns and too much mp

Ng+ is terribly disappointing even on Regicide. Why the hell do I still have my endgame equipment and maxed Archetype skills
I switched to Japanese voices and couldn't get used to it. They all don't sound like themselves anymore π More in particular sets the tone of the game
Hey at least they all look better in Etrian Odyssey outfits.
