need help recovering HDD

accidentally disabled, then enabled HDD without restarting. shit won't read now, is it possible to recover?
how did you disable the HDD? on the OS or bios?
if you can, try connecting that HDD to another pc as a slave.

It can entirely depend on how you "re-enabled" it.
If you did it in a way that just wiped the file table, all your data is still there, just no OS friendly way of accessing it, but any HDD recovery program should work.

ive used recuva a few times, it took a few hours to scan deleted files.
so I was able to back up what I needed onto an external hdd. I'm having trouble reformatting the corrupted drive now, thought I would be able to just right click and format, but that isn't working.

fuck, now it's not even showing up in explorer or disk management.See if it shows up in your bios. Another option is to make a linux live usb and boot into linux and see if it shows up there. if it shows up in linux and bios, it's probably just messed up in windows.

Yeah, i'd make sure its showing up in the bios.
Sometimes just moving the slot its plugged into on the mother board will help.
At this point I'd say that the HDD is a goner. I wouldn't trust it even if you did get it to work again.
