Like I've got the spare cash for it but I'd just genuinely hate myself for spending so much for so little, and I can find cheaper ways to do that.
PS6 definitely coming in at £600. They'll have learnt the absolute wrong lesson from the covid boom for sure
No mention of the rumoured controller upgrade with a better battery either. Sheesh.
2TB of cocaine laced SSD tho

The funniest shit to me was their highlight reel of PS5 games legit included like maybe 1-2 games I've been interested in, and one of them was a remake of a PS3 game

If you adjust for inflation, a launch model PS3 in the UK cost £695.43
PS5 Pro is only £4 more and plays PS4 games. It’s a bargain in that respect.

and also, it was a huge flop and set sony back years
They did absolutely nothing to convince anyone why they'd want one, not even as an upgrade, but also just as an entry point.
10s snippets of TLOU2, GT and Horizon where you could barely tell the difference.

By Fenderputty Go To PostAny games shown or just an exorbitant price tag for a marginal hardware upgrade? They showed The Last Of Us 2, Spider Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank running on 4K60 with improved RT and better quality overall, similiar things for Horizon, FF16, GT7, FF7 Remake 2 and Alan Wake 2, Hogwart's Legacy run with fantastic RT but 4K30.
The price is tough. I'd like to seem some deep dives into the performance before clicking purchase on a pre-order link. 2TB out the gate is solid. That's the expansion/upgrade I made to one of my launch PS5's.

Yeah ... maybe at $500 dollar. Maybe. $700 plus a disc drive cost, FOH.

I've had PS5 for 4 years, I've only ever put a 4k Blu-ray disc in the console with a disc. Everything has been digital. I can't be the only one like this.
I honestly don't care this gen has been bogged down by a series S and PS4 crossgen shit. I don't. I've been largely happy with the games. That said ... knowing this stuff makes this feel like a cash grab and I won't be part of it lol
I have about 25% of my games I've bought on disc. I also do have some 4K blu Rays I like to play.

Guess what you can't do with a PS5 Pro?

It wont fail, its for the enthusiasts - its not meant to succeed or replace the base standard console.
People will pay and with Xbox tanking...
as more and more games take advantage of it, it will sway more people, unfortunately.

The price is insane when you consider the price hikes globally to the base model over the last year.
800 von der Leyens is wild.
but you barely get a gpu for that so still decent deal when you want low high end gaming.

its a system toggle
not something devs need to patch
That might not be a good thing honestly. Sounds like it could be a “dumb” upscaler, like FSR1.0/DLSS1.0.

Given how the presents glossed over the technical aspects of PSSR, I’m gonna remain doubtful on that.

CNET:
The planned 40 to 50 games that get PS5 Pro upgrades at the hardware's Nov. 7 launch will focus on 4K and 60fps upgrades across the board, but also have a laundry list of other graphics boosts including new volumetric lighting and effects, richer graphics, more on-screen background characters, and modes that can ramp up to 120fps or 8K gaming.
I played Gran Turismo 7 in an 8K mode and a 4K mode that added all sorts of extra ray-tracing effects. Much like PC games, Cerny said the Pro could spark a range of extra gaming modes.

It should be more of a DLSS style upscaler. Not that we'd fucking know because spent roughly 6 seconds makling a case for it.
More I think about it this was just a disaster of a presentation. Like they need to release a proper high-fidelity 4K thing that actually shows in detail what this thing is doing.
