Dude Southampton’s number 4… man had god rays coming through the clouds as that ball reached his feet
Southampton are doomed. Not even four games in and they've completely wasted two game-changing gifts, on top of giving goals away with some dreadful passing from the back and a really poor home loss.
By Flutter Go To PostZirkzee would be a fantastic second striker in a 4-4-2Yeah honestly I think his general play has looked pretty good, but he isn't going to score many goals
By Willkiller Go To PostYeah honestly I think his general play has looked pretty good, but he isn't going to score many goalsPretty much, he's just lacking something in that aspect.
Zirkzee does a lot of stuff well. Has a good first touch that can take him away from tight markers. His first time passing is very good so when he drops deep he's a real danger because he can pick out a killer pass.
But he's genuinely slow. We've had two great opportunities on transition this game and he has lagged well behind the play as he can't keep up.

By Hitch Go To PostFair play to Arteta for seeing that Ramsdale needed upgrading even while he was playing quite well.I'm not blaming him for that though. One of those lucky goals because the goalkeeper cant see through the low block in front of him.

I mean he obviously would never be anywhere near as good, but possibly a new Fellaini am born.

Genuinely disagree.

Thank you 360 m9
By Laboured Go To PostGenuinely disagree.I think he's been poor on three attacks the half just gone and all were because he either didn't react fast enough or couldn't keep up with his teammates.
De Ligt has been pretty decent really. Had one bad moment when he was turned by Walker-Peters, but has been strong in the air and made some good clearances.

He's not incredibly quick, but we've seen he's fast enough to get to the ball when it's crossed into the box.

Yeah I don't mind the argument that he needs to show more urgency and aggression at times, but I don't think he is an actual physically slow player.
