By Killer7 Go To PostMan he's been very underwhelming for a while now but there are alot of times today where he was making the good runs but the ball never came. Also does his bit in the build up on that left hand side. Wish he would play more on the inside and charge inside the fullback but he doesn't do it enough.Nacho did more in his 20 min cameo - and I feel like I've been saying that a lot.
As long as Manu press high, Casemiro can do short sprints and he is OK. The moment that stopped and there was far more ground to cover he struggled.
Having more defensive options (yoro, licha. Mathijs) that can defend forward, not afraid of it, will help him.
But you do need someone that can cover more ground all the time.
He is now 2nd biggest problem, Marcus moved to first imo (needs his confidence back quickly)

Feel like his good form broadly happens when Shaw is fit tbh (I've not checked da stats so I could be worng about that).
By n8 dogg Go To PostFar too expensiveSeems the story of the summer for so many clubs.
Look at Pep markao over there.

All of our midfield options are distinctly underwhelming. Mainoo is great but a defender he is not. Casemiro is just too slow (still got a nice eye for a pass). Eriksen likewise. McTominay is an attacking midfielder in a defensive midfielder’s body, Fellaini 2.0
I guess it's just because he's historically been good and I can't get that out of my head.. but I still think Rashford looks super dangerous when he's dribbling and it makes me nervous. I expect good things from him even if he doesn't actually offer them as much these days.
A win away to Bristol followed by a win at home against Oxford.
Next up, we are away to Bristol, followed by home against Oxford.

Yup. If we can shift Eriksen and McTom and replace them with Berge and Ugarte I'd feel better.
Also we're playing a lot of players who have been back for two weeks. I don't think we're going to find much form in the first 3 games, it's going to be scrappy.
We still look vulnerable to counterattacks, but we conceded far fewer of them than we did in a lot of games last season.
At least two Fulham transitions came from our sloppy passing under minimal pressure. Cut out those mistakes from our game and we'll look much better.

By Scum Go To PostDisso plsGoing to be funny when he leaves and manages to stay healthy and absolutely cooks at whatever club he goes to. Last few seasons we were our best when him and James were bombing forward.

Get a midfielder in too.

Might be too early to say for certain, but we looked far fitter and athletic than at most points last season. Faded after and hour, but that could be down to lack of match fitness.
Should just play Amass at LB.
Kimmich I think. Or Stanisic?
By Killer7 Go To PostHow did Mazroui not work out at Bayern. Lad looks the real deal. Who they got at RB at the moment?

Close, he's 29.

Just happy that there’s improvements, but still wonder what we gonna do with some players.
Tonights game also showed that we really need another midfielder. Probably two if we're being honest.
Casemiro played well, but the longer the game went on, the sloppier he became in possession. We need another midfielder that's comfortable in possession and one that can also do the dirty work in tracking play and winning back the ball.
Seeing how much our press degraded once Mount went off and Casemiro got tired, I'd be tempted to go for Ugarte above others. He's not good on the ball, but he'll keep scrapping for 90 minutes.

By Killer7 Go To PostHow did Mazroui not work out at Bayern. Lad looks the real deal. Who they got at RB at the moment? We signed Sasha Boey mid season for whatever reason. Tuchel just didn't rate Mazraoui. I think he's a very reliable RB.
Now Stanisic is starting as RB and probably our starting RB from now on. Lad is solid as fuck. Don't think I've ever seen him smile
Well I am glad you don't need him. He looks competent on the ball and played aggressive today. Long may it continue.
It's nice that the Gallagher situation is coming to a close. However, having to take on Felix to make it happen, and before having a deal in place for one of the other forward players, makes no sense when Neto has just been added to the pile. Madueke, Sterling or Mudryk need to go now and the latter two have absolutely no market.
And then you have Lukaku, Datro Fofana, Broja, Petrovic, Kepa, Chilwell, Chukwuemeka, Casadai and Chalobah that have all been, in one way or another, told to leave. Plus a dozen kids that largely received no minutes during the preseason. They can stick around because they don't count against the registration cap, but is that what they really want? Or is that what they were sold on when they signed?
There's also two big money teens arriving next summer too, so ownership have to know that there is another transfer ban on the horizon. It's the only thing that does make sense at this point.

Nervous about today, need to get off to a good start especially with some of the away games we have coming up.

Maguire played well last night. He's not a first choice selection anymore, but it's good that he can still be replied upon to slot in. There were times last season when it looked like he was finished.
