Shaw is out until the international break. Can see why Martinez started at LB last weekend. We've no fucken senior left backs available.

Out until after the international break :lol
Incredible. "Thank God for Mazraoui" he says, as the monkey paw curls.

Lad needs to be sold so an actual reliable LB can come in. Maybe ETH sees Mazroui as that until Amass is ready.
I think Chilwell is quite gud. I also think Chilwell's injury problems aren't much better than Shaw's.
By Meier Go To PostNot exactly. Porto paid 10M€ for him this summer and he gets 20% of any future transfer.
Impressive first season huh..
I feel like Chico could be really good. When I watch him play his pace and directness honestly blows me away. Could work out very nicely for Porto in terms of profit on him.

By Laboured Go To PostWhat's happening with Solanke's shirt number, Jes? Outrageous negligence. We don't have quite as well oiled a football operation as man red sadly
A low-ball offer for Chilwell would probably work. They likely just want his wages over the next three seasons off the books.
Maresca had him training with the wingers two weeks ago. He has no future under this guy.

Convert Anthony into a left back.
I agree, especially because he viscerally hates playing there.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostNot exactly. Porto paid 10M€ for him this summer and he gets 20% of any future transfer. If he goes for €30m, even with his cut taken that is €16m profit on top of the original sale to Ajax (€5m). I actually am shocked he was that cheap to start, I assumed the original Ajax transfer was higher.
By n8 dogg Go To PostAjax, Juventus, Bayern and Man Utd. Hell of a run of clubs.
a lot of fallen giants for sure
By FortuneFaded Go To Post1 and 1/2 matches of football so far and we've had one shot on target. We got a second.
We're having a decent transfer window really. Revamped our entire defence and have brought in a good forward to replace Martial. Squad is younger than before as well.
Still need at least two midfielders and probably another striker. But I think that's work for the next few windows. Might get one CM tho.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostWe got a second. And another. We've had a much better start to this second half. Although I said that against Stoke and we ended up losing anyway.
We're bringing on 5 subs at the same time. Match will go straight to penalties if level after full time.
By Laboured Go To PostYou do love to see it.Who's he going to knock out first, Yanited or Spurs
We won. Our first win in the league cup since 2020. Our only surviving player from the match being Jamie Allen who came off the bench tonight.

I like that the fees are respectable. I know Yoro was very expensive for an 18-year-old, but he has decent first team experience already and is signed to a long term contract. No silly 80-90m transfers like Lukaku, Maguire, Antony just because we can. Thank fuck Ed Woodward is gone.
Biggest concern is and will be injuries. Yoro out already, Martinez/De Ligt/Shaw/Malacia all concerns - and that’s just the defence.
Also very concerned about our midfield. Doesn’t matter who is in the double pivot - any combination of Casemiro/Mainoo/Eriksen/McTominay is exceptionally brittle and susceptible to being bypassed at will.

surprised they are still a football club

Martin Braithwaite playing for Grêmio is random as hell. He's starting against Fluminense in the Copa Libertadores Round of 16 which kicked off tonight.
Tomorrow in the league cup we have Hull vs Wednesday, Leeds vs Middlesbrough, and Rooney fighting for his job against Cheltenham.
