By n8 dogg Go To PostDon’t think we learned much from that match; everything that happened (Ten Hag can set up a counter-attacking side, we really need a Casemiro replacement, Onana doesn’t like diving, City are shit without Rodri/eight of their starting line up, Rashford can’t finish, Bruno is god, we have no left side without Luke Shaw) we already knew.
Learned more about Citeh - Pep’s not fussed about signing an Alvarez replacement. Doku, Savinho and Bobb are there for directness while Foden (and perhaps Grealish/Bernardo?) are false nine alternatives.
Txiki will be cooking a master class. Be sure of it.

By Oddinho Go To PostThat defending by Pellistri looks like it needs a backing track by Johan Strauss
And Andre Rieu front and centre right Randy?
By Killer7 Go To PostSuprised he's not come on at allThought at least a few mins but after Yoro and co, maybe it's better to not risk our injury luck.

Nah that was Omar if the football finance experts are to be believed.
The guy who’s at United now
By markao Go To PostFirst pretty even, not good. Utd better team in second halve, more forward pressure and chances.
Will only believe we are good when we do this against a team that isn’t City
By n8 dogg Go To PostWill only believe we are good when we do this against a team that isn’t CityJust need to give the ball to all the other teams too lol
By n8 dogg Go To PostWill only believe we are good when we do this against a team that isn’t Cityfelt there was a clear difference between first, sit deep and second try to press. (build up also bit better)
But agree, does not tell how to perform against a deep block, biggest Manu issue
By Killer7 Go To PostSell everyone that missesBye Johnny
By Dan Go To PostY’all know what happens when we lose this.No #5 for you then
5 in a row is loading.
By Killer7 Go To PostNo #5 for you then
Yep, already congratulated the arse.

Our defensive set up looks better and we aren't pressing suicidally high to allow 20+ shots per game. Looked like we were finally alert to potential cutbacks and had a man defend higher in the box to prevent that.

Amad looked comfortable dribbling around the City defensive and linked up well at times with our other forwards.
We still look poor building from the back, but I think that's entirely down to personnel issues now. There isn't a Carrick esque player available to us that can build attacks from deep and also effectively cover our defence. So we need to decide what player profile we need right now and build from there.
By atticus Go To Posteh what can ya doLad might not even be here come end of window. If he does he'll probably be 4th/5th choice
Sancho talk gonna be even more toxic now

Stop this talk of football, Horse. I need you to play through Sherry’s segment in RE2R.
By Laboured Go To PostAh well. Thought we were the better team during the 90.If Amad’s playing time isn’t upgraded to ‘Regular Starter/Important Player’, then he should back to Sunderland.
By Dazenheimer Go To Postshould have won 5-2 in the 90.Not too dissimilar to the cup game. With a heavily weakend City side that had a number of their first 11 missing (more so that us). Decent performance though. Will be good to see us with the new CB/fullback in.
but even the anti-ETH boo boys must be encouraged by the performance.
ETH will be judged once the actual season starts. Needs to go into that Liverpool game with 2 wins
Anyway, some promising plays even if City are missing some. Finishing is still insanely shit though. We go again.
Toby Collyer looked decent. Played some quick, accurate first time passes under pressure and his defensive work is what led to Garnacho's goal.
We still need to sign at least one midfielder, but I think Collyer is ready for some exposure to first team football this season.

as for the team strenght, city finished the game with near their strongest team and if anything, we finished with the weaker team.
there is no denying the team is much more compact and leaving fewer gaps.
