17 year old Quenda keeps his place on the starting lineup for the Liga Portugal opener tonight.
Started the summer as a possible squad player but likely would divide his team between the main team and the B team, excelled on the pre season and Amorim has shown his trust on him by starting him on the two official matches of the season.

The Chelsea thing is at least lucky for the fans for the time being. Most shirts look a million times better without a sponsor.

By Laboured Go To PostWatching this Newcastle friendly with Portuguese commentary, as a little Friday evening treat.Life must be tough atm, horse
Sergio Camello looks like a very tidy finisher. Surprised how few goals he scored for Rayo. Spain keeper who just had that excellent assist plays for PSG apparently, heh.
Happy for my boy Sergio Gomez. Good luck at Sociedad.

5 minutes till the season starts. Blackburn vs. Derby County and Preston vs. Sheffield United. Will watch the latter to see O'Hare and Hamer. Decided to splurge on a Now TV Sports subscription since Sky signed a big deal with the EFL to show a lot more games. Haven't been this confident about our team playing well in a season in years, which probably means we will battle relegation.
By Laboured Go To PostWell, I think that's probably the end of anyone taking Thierry Henry seriously as a manager.Wouldn’t be surprised to see USMNT give him a ring

By Meier Go To PostNewcastle tonking Girona. 4-0 in their friendly in 39 minutes.Friendly?? This is for the Sela Cup m8
That was quick. Gyokeres beats the offside trap and squares it for Pedro Gonçalves to tap in. 1-0 against Rio Ave with 5 minutes played.

Yeah same for Copenhagen. They have laws against it a few places, Norway too.
What a finish from Pedro Gonçalves! It's a gift from the Rio Ave keeper but Pote couldn't place it any better.
By Cleff Go To PostHe's going to be fucking dreadful

If you know spanish, you've figured out United's strategy:
hermoso, sa
Del lat. formōsus.
1. adj. Dotado de hermosura.
Sin.:
bello, bonito2, lindo, guapo, agraciado, precioso, majo.
2. adj. Grandioso, excelente y perfecto en su línea.
Sin.:
noble, generoso, bueno.

By Laboured Go To PostThat's a threat if I ever saw one.Imo if he's on the pitch and the opponent does not have at least 2 goals, then they've done something horribly wrong tactically on attack or the attackers are awful players.
By Scum Go To PostThe problem isn't that Juve being interested in Sterling isn't believable, it's that he would never take such a pay cut that would make it even remotely possible from a business perspective.
At 30 years old he's not going to relocate his life to another country where he's making a fraction of the money. He knows the quality of players around him that he's up against at Chelsea. He is going to play. He's also on his, what, fifth manager entering his third season at the club? I just can't imagine he cares enough at this point or feels like he has something to prove to want a challenge like Juve. He is not Ronaldo.
By Laboured Go To PostRomano saying we're looking at Hermoso on a free :shrugWould be similar to Berge. Wouldn't mind signing him, but needs to be signed along with a surefire starter. Can't be a first team regular.
