Commiserations to the English lads. The talent is obviously there. It's just a shame it's mostly on the bench when these games kick off. This group will win something over the next 6 years.
By n8 dogg Go To PostTwo finals more than everyone ever before him but one bloke in 1966. I’ve enjoyed the memories, lad. I’ve enjoyed the vibes. That’s what we’re all here for.If you're here for the vibes and not the results then why hang on to "but two finals" and enjoyed not winning anything, instead of lamenting the garbage ass football on display when you've had a brilliant generation of players from the top teams around Europe. You didn't deserve to even be in this final, and it showed.
A "for the vibes" fan would rather a good football team playing attractive football ultimately fall short of a trophy, instead of a bad football team making some deep run playing like shit, and relying on luck.

I don’t think that’s true. The talent was mostly on the pitch. No one can honestly look at Kane, Foden, Walker, Bellingham and say there are better options in terms of quality.
The team cohesion and set up was what was off (alongside fitness).
By domino Go To PostKane cant start in 2026He’ll pull a Ronaldo.
England kept relying on that invidual special moment and when that does not happen, there's not a whole lot left. Could have easily happened in all previous endgame matches.
If you have so much quality in your squad, go out there to win it, high intensity from the start and face forward.
Maybe the next manager will bring that some day.

You cannot make an argument that he can take this team any further, and this group of players should be capable of playing well and winning against good teams.
Barclays will be back before long and the 5peat is on.
That will wash this pain away.
That and more Arsenal tears.

Agreed we didn’t deserved to be in there. And I hang onto ‘but two finals’ because the journey there, the prolonged atmosphere and buzz around the country, the hope and the joy that comes from those moments over the sustained period of the month is what makes it fun. Would much rather have won. Will still remember shit like that Watkins winner and Bellingham overhead kick in 50 years, irrespective of final result.

Respect.
Southgate absolutely has to go. Done a lot of good work changing the culture and pushing us far. Now we need someone who can manage a football game, not just the pre- and post- of it.
Italy, Croatia, Germany, France and England.
What a run. Fair play. That midfield and wingers are serious quality.

By Scum Go To Postinky’s having none of it.Southgate just pisses me off like that. It's a crime to have this amount of incredible players wasted like this.
By Meier Go To PostThere was about a minute between the Saka foul and the actual free kick and he still blew at 94:03.I've always said the way added time is handled in football is insane. You can have 5 minutes added time for time wasting, then 4 of those minutes can be used to time waste, and the ref will blow 6th minute at best.

Steady on. We did Germany since they did us. 2010 was a long time ago m8

By Fergie Go To PostCucurella really turned up this tournament. He lost his mind at Chelsea.
It's so bizarre to see how bad Southgate was this tournament. He's never been great but at least in the past he hasn't made the same mistakes as everyone else just shoving in players to the wrong position or picking media darlings all the time. Even at the squad stage, he was brave enough to dump the likes of Rashford and Grealish.
Then he comes in and gets the team wrong every single time, to catastrophic effect. Somehow still advances, and never learns a thing.

This is what we need to focus on next. They spent a long time improving the pipeline of English (attacking...) talent. Now we need to find a way to improve the quality of our coaching.
3 managers in our top division are English lol.
