I'm sorry, I'm seeing potential formations but Foden hasn't been shoehorned in?

"Somehow Trippier has returned"
Oh wow Vini gonna miss the Uruguay quarterfinal cause of yellow card accumulation. Brazil are fucked.
By Dazenheimer Go To PostBrazil still got Neymar right?Wasn't called up.
By Dazenheimer Go To PostBrazil still got Neymar right? He was at the Paraguay match last Friday in Vegas.
He didn't make the trip to Santa Clara for Colombia. 😬
By Dazenheimer Go To PostBrazil still got Neymar right?Nope he tore his ACL, not playing fútbol this tournament. The only thing he is playing is cards at casinos.
By bone Go To PostNope he tore his ACL, not playing fútbol this tournament. The only he is playing is cards at casinos.I saw he won some celebrity tournament haha
And then I googled and saw his age and blew my mind he's still fairly young and should be dominating football smh
By FootbalIFan Go To PostI saw he won some celebrity tournament hahaHis career went to shit ever since went to PSG. No one held him accountable there. He doesn't take care of his body and parties his ass off so he has zero durability now in his 30s. He should be dominating for Brazil and a real European giant club with proper history. He should be in the conversation for best player in the world now that Messi and Ronaldo are in their late 30s. Instead he's semi-retired in Saudi Arabia and he never won a major trophy for Brazil at 32. Messi and Ronaldo are fighting for their continental trophies while he plays cards at the casino.

Yeah, what a waste. But can't really blame a man for living to it's fullest. As long as he stays away from his family.
Arrived at the polling station. Jude shouted ‘who’s ready to vote Southgate out?’ Everyone cheered. An old lady on a mobility scooter did the worm.

The red one. Tactics

You're going to be on a short fucking leash next season my dude.
While the replacement candidates weren't great, I think the main reason we've extended is the new football management group are going to need at least a season to get on top of things anyway.

So it seems to be on the exact same terms, and is triggering a pre-existing one year extension option. Hence why he still has a transfer veto.

By Laboured Go To PostThat doesn't answer the question.
Wasn't the talk that his role was going to be revised to remove his contractural transfer vote? Hence a "new" contract, not just an extension
Why bother? If he does badly and you decide to sack you've got to pay him for an extra year for no reason
I think it is likely a compromise between not leaving him with a year left on his contract this season and him not willing to forego the transfer veto provision.
By Laboured Go To PostI think it is likely a compromise between not leaving him with a year left on his contract this season and him not willing to forego the transfer veto provision. His original contract would have gone to 2025 without the extension option though right? Then 2026 with it. Why not just...give him the season until 2025 then, it's still your option to take or he naturally comes to the end and you move on.
Weird.
That new structure though.
Surely you're not proposing he sits on his last year of contract through next season? I thought we'd quashed this one already.
By Laboured Go To PostSurely you're not proposing he sits on his last year of contract through next season? I thought we'd quashed this one already. But it isn't? There was an option there for 2026, the club's option. So I'm not seeing the issue.
Regardless, all the talk was that you were going to extend...but that was a way to revise his contract and change his transfer infuence.
"Erik we'd like you to sign an extension but we will be putting a full transfer structure above you so we want to remove your transfer powers"
"No"
"Oh ok"
Yes I think he has probably stood his ground and we were not able to dictate terms to him as we would have liked. That's contract negotiations baby! I'm certainly not trying to make the case that this is a perfect solution.
And honestly at that stage you can ether say fuck it and hire someone else or find the best compromise. We didn't love any of the available candidates enough it seems.

Not a good look though when this new fancy structure fails to do what it publicly (well, the mouthpieces of the club were all clearly briefed his transfer powers were to be removed) aimed to do with a manager they're only keeping because of...bad timing.
Paul Mitchell would never...
feyenoord legend wieffer moving to brighton is only a matter of time.
sounds like a 30-35m euro deal.

Is there anything wrong with having a transfer veto? Seems like the problem was eth being the only voice for transfers and all the signings were past players.
But you don't want a situation where Ashworth suggests signing a Mason Mount, eth has no idea how to use such a player, and they end up sitting on the bench

By Laboured Go To PostHE'S ALREADY MITCHELL-PILLED!I really am
I was very scared we were going to get that 777 Partners lad, all the talk was it was between him and Freedman so when Freedman said no.....
Mitchell was a name that came up pre-Ashworth iirc so this came kinda out of nowhere. But I'm very happy with it.

No, you're right, the much bigger problem was him having a disproportionately powerful voice in terms of which players we focussed on, which is only tangentially related to the veto.
