I blame OKC.
If we kept Hartenstein we don’t make this trade cuz Mitch makes Anthony Davis look like AC Green.

By pilonv1 Go To Postlol. Surely they're going to reroute him somewhere else.
Who would want him though? He's a free agent soon too. Maybe they're gonna start Naz and use Randle as the 6th man, if not their spacing is wrecked.

Just give us a pick cowards
what in the flying fuck? bitter sweet, i like KAT but i also liked randle and dont like that donte is gone especially.
felt like a KAT for Randle swap was inevitable IMO
just expected it to be if one of the teams got off to a slow start lol

By DY_nasty Go To PostStill weird to see the Knicks making good moves.
oh shit
By n8 dogg Go To PostRandle for KAT is a good move for Knicks but losing Donte is gonna hurt them.I don't think Donte is that good personally, at least not to the point that I wouldn't give him up for KAT.

Sure, but he’s exceptional depth, clutch at 3s, robust, defends well for his size. They gotta hope McBride steps it up
By rodeoclown Go To PostI'm just sad, man.🫂
I enjoy how this is so clearly owner driven that no one has even attempted to blame the gm of the Wolves.
Fuck a Glen Taylor.
Fuck a Glen Taylor.
The Wolves are losing the second best player in team history in a move to free up about $26m. The charitable argument is this is to help them retain Alexander-Walker and Reid this coming offseason. But you're giving up somebody that important to sign role players?
They're never getting the Pistons pick, so it doesn't matter. Randle isn't what I'm looking for at the 4 and they probably let him go for nothing anyway to save cash.

The moves the Knicks made before this (Shamet, Payne, Marcus Morris) kind of foreshadowed the deal. I never really liked Randle, talented player but not the kind of guy you win a championship with imo. KAT is better and a better fit but he's also in that category of player for me so we'll see...
Brunson
Hart
Bridges
OG
Towns
I'd be much more excited if we didn't have to start Hart and could actually play 5 out but I see the vision.
And it also rodeo that Pistons pick does have a decent chance of conveying. It's only top nine protected 3 years from now, Believe in Cade...

He's a great player and his defense noticeably improved to the point that they absolutely don't beat Denver without him guarding Jokic.
Seriously, I love the guy. I worry that Thibs is going to grind him into dust, though (to say nothing of how acrimonious their relationship was before). Towns has had a lot of injuries the last few years and isn't at a stage in his career to play 38 minutes a night anymore.

By s y brev Go To Postweird ass trade for minnesota. I dont like KAT but the return seems like ass.Towns is among the highest paid players in the league, so the return on a deal for him was likely never going to be that good. A role player, a pick, and the Randle contract isn't the worst given the cost.
I'm more at peace with it a day later. That is if they can actually use this financial flexibility to retain Naz and NAW and use the pick and the Randle expiring to add a piece to the team. I think they probably can since Connelly has shown he knows what he's doing here.
I get the feeling they had something worked out with iHart where they did some shit under the table to make up for the few million less they could offer, and OKC fucked up all their plans when they offered him nearly 30 mil/yr
Something off about all this last minute scrambling. That KAT-Randle trade has been in the rumor mills for at least 2 years and Mitch always been injury prone.

Mitch was just posting about being the longest tenured Knick with lots of hard work to show for it
lol if he gets traded
lol if he gets traded

By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostStewie.I didn't get a chance to watch much of the game. I was told that the Liberty held a lead pretty much throughout? Disappointing the Aces didn't challenge them, but I have been down on them all season for good reasons.

Led from wire to wire, Stewie and Sabrina outplayed A'ja and Plum. Jonquel held A'ja in somewhat of check too

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Mitch is glass. It's over.
Unless we can get an impact player, like a player that we could plausibly start over Josh Hart, then I'm keeping Mitch. He can both back up and play with Towns. With his injury history he might need to transition into a bench player anyway
