By DY_nasty Go To PostLet people play defense nglRockets are doing this tbh. They're winning the three-point battle because of their defense despite being a poor three-point team.
I’d be all for eliminating the corner 3, but also think you could fix this pretty easy if you made forearm ball when outside the 3 point line (on shot attempts only)
If you want a larger variety of shots, you have to allow for defenses to muck things up to the point there is no such thing as an open 3 while still letting defenses protect the rim without selling out one way or the other.

It’s either that or make step back and sidestep 3s illegal 🤷♂️
As is, there’s literally nothing you can do about a KD step back 3 except foul. Unless you’re Wemby maybe.
I think widening the court to make all 3s the same distance and bringing back hand checking or making screens outside the 3pt line illegal would be interesting.

It’s mostly just figuring out how to give back a fair contest/chance to block a 3 point shot on taller players given the landing space rules. Which are there for a very good reason. If you make a little more of the arm available to check on the shot it fixes that.
If you want to try a baby hook that far out go crazy
just an unblockable shot is unblockable.
When you have a skilled 7fter, making a shot seems like not the answer.

I'd like to suggest only two shots if you're fouled taking a three. I know it would kill close games where a team is up three but the overall benefit would be worth it I think

20 assists for Payton. Hard to see how he wasn't playing in the league in some way after watching this
