June 28
10:06 a.m. ET: The Dallas Mavericks are trading guard Tim Hardaway Jr. and three second-round picks to the Detroit Pistons for Quentin Grimes, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The move positions the Mavs to offer a significant portion of their $12.9M non-taxpayer midlevel exception to free agent Derrick Jones Jr., according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon. GM Nico Harrison has called re-signing Jones "priority 1A and 1B" this offseason.
9:39 a.m. ET: Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley intends to sign a five-year, $175M deal to remain in Toronto, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Quickley, 25, who was acquired by the Raptors last season in the trade that sent OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks, averaged 18.6 points, 6.8 assists and 4.8 rebounds last season in Toronto, and shot 40% from 3.
June 27
5:40 p.m. ET: The Denver Nuggets are trading Reggie Jackson to the Charlotte Hornets along with three second-round picks, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Jackson averaged 10.2 points per game for Denver in 2023-24.
June 25
10:10 p.m. ET: The Brooklyn Nets have made a deal with the Houston Rockets to return the Nets' 2026 first-round pick for the Phoenix Suns' 2027 first-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Rockets will also get 2025 rights to swap Houston/Oklahoma City's first-round pick for the Suns' 2025 first-rounder, along with the rights to swap for Brooklyn's 2025 first-round pick.
9:58 p.m. ET: The Brooklyn Nets have agreed in principle to send forward Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via the Milwaukee Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-rounder, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Bridges was second on the Nets in points per game (19.6) and led the team in assists (3.6) last season.

LOL
Even Borrego is like "you expect me to do anything with Cade being surrounded by the likes of THJ, Holland, and Ausar? Pass"

I don't even like Holland much as a prospect and I am kind of rooting for him lol, so many people are shitting on him. He had basically the same stats only projection in Pelton's model as Salaün (who went 6) and only a little worse than Castle (who went 4) and neither of them are receiving this amount of vitriol. Other than maybe Dillingham (who would probably have been seen as a reach if taken that high for anyone but the Spurs, especially if the Pistons played him at SG), how exactly were they going to get someone who provided real spacing without deviating significantly from the consensus? If they had, wouldn't people be shitting on them even harder? Don't blame their new GM for playing it safe instead of going sicko mode like Memphis.
The difference is that Salaun is 6'10 and that matters A LOT.
For Detroit it also doesn't make sense. Not advocating drafting for need especially when you're as bad as Detroit, but why get Holland if you have Asaur and Ivey?

Should have traded down with Memphis, asked for GG Jackson and their pick and just taken Dillingham. He's a better fit with Cade than Ivey, Thompson or Holland.
They got too many I need the ball all the time guys on 1 team, at least with Dillingham I know he can play off it to some degree.

He's a better fit with Cade than Ivey, Thompson or Holland. The problem with trading down is that someone has to actually want to trade up. I don't think Memphis would ever have agreed to something like that, they love GG. Plus like I said, I'm pretty sure they secretly wanted Edey anyway and knew no team would have the balls to take him top 8...

Agreed that with Holland the fit with their roster is terrible. But I also just don't think there's anyone on their roster who's good enough that you shouldn't take BPA if they genuinely think that's who Holland is (like... I would personally have taken Clingan, which would also not help their spacing at all).
By reilo Go To PostWould you take Ausar or Holland?Ausar, but I don't have his medicals. The blood clots might be more serious than we think. Plus, I hated Ausar pre-draft lol, I'm not sure I would have him over Holland if I didn't know how his NBA rookie season went.

Plus, I hated Ausar pre-draft lol, I'm not sure I would have him over Holland if I didn't know how his NBA rookie season went.I mean hindsight is 20/20 but based on where we are today, you gotta evaluate with what you have today. If they were both in the same draft, I'd say it's a coin-flip.
But we do have a full year of Ausar in the NBA, so.

If they were both in the same draft, I'd say it's a coin-flip.I will say that I'd be a lot higher on Holland if he were a better athlete, because he kind of profiles like Jaylen Brown as a prospect. Brown opted not to do any of the athletic testing so we can't actually compare them in that regard but it wouldn't be totally shocking if he tested more similarly than we think, in which case teams are kind of justified for gambling on him.

By reilo Go To PostLOLI don’t think the choice was his. Lol

Lakers agreed to drafting Bronny if LeBron takes a pay cut, confirmed. I'm sticking to that feel good story
By reilo Go To PostKeeping Trae?! LMAOOOOOSunk cost fallacy
By reilo Go To PostKeeping Trae?! LMAOOOOOThe Hawks were way better with Trae and not Dejounte than Dejounte and not Trae, and the league apparently is valuing Dejounte higher anyway.
By Sharp Go To PostThe Hawks were way better with Trae and not Dejounte than Dejounte and not Trae, and the league apparently is valuing Dejounte higher anyway.Trae's a cancer
By Sharp Go To PostWait if they're getting Dyson Daniels and trading Dejounte, why did they even draft Risacher?Play Dyson at SF? But then they have Okongwu.
EDIT: And D'Andre Hunter, and Jalen Johnson lol
EDIT2: I guess Okongwu is more of a small backup C, IDK
By jjasper Go To PostTrae’s asking price and Trae’s demand are not going to match unless they find someone desperate.
They're not trading him until after next season I'd guess. Last thing they want to do is be awful enough to give the Spurs a top 5 pick which is still on the table anyway but Trae should at least get them to the 9-14 lottery range.

Another reason it's baffling that they punted on this draft.

Hawks will be a lottery team next year, that one is set in stone, and it's supposed to be a deep draft so they probably feel that's where they'll get the real help. Either that or they'll trade the picks + other stuff for Cade or someone like that.
By Sharp Go To PostWhen he asks out of San Antonio in a couple years, where do you think he goes?he will remain with spurs his whole career.
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostIngram is goneCJ is going to be gone, too. Maybe not now. Maybe at the trade deadline or when he becomes an expiring. For now, he'll just be coming off the bench. The starters are going to be DJM, Herb, Trey, Zion, <random big="">.
I'm bummed Dyson is gone but am so happy that Nance has been taken away from Willie. Nance is great people, though. Will miss that.
By reilo Go To PostPlay Dyson at SF? But then they have Okongwu.Dyson can hold up at PF in like 90% of the matchups as well as switch onto PGs and anyone in between. He can slot anywhere on defense. It's where he is going to fit on offense that is going to be the hard part to figure out. He has a floater and a turn-around baby-hook and that's about it right now.
