Is that basically a 270 landing into a heel rail grind?
I don't know enough about trick skateboarding but that seems tame. Maybe his competitors tried too big of tricks and couldn't land them so all he needed to do was land something that was moderately difficult and just not screw it up to win?

I know it isn't! But I have memories of the X-Games from like 10+ years ago and this would have been like a 7/10 difficulty trick. Again, I don't really know actual pro-skateboarding that well but it just seems relatively unimpressive to a layperson like me compared to things I have seen on X-Games and YouTube.

I feel like a lot of the best tricks in skateboarding are only hit like 1 in 10 attempts, so can't be reliably preformed under pressure?

I've been streaming the surfing event this morning. No where near Paris, but this spot in Tahiti is one of the most prime surf spots in the world and today is great conditions. LA, in 4 years, will have some decent stuff, but nothing like this.
To get out of a wave once done, they'll launch out the top and let the wave by. Great timing by the photographer.
US VS AUS in about 2 minutes. Should be good. Jon Jon Florence is top class and so is Robinson from AUS. Both would be considered favorites.
As with all thing surfing ... on shore winds have picked up and it's making barrels tougher to find. Florence and Robinson only got a couple rides each with Robinson getting the far better of the waves.

e: i think because the high schools would have the girls play that or some hybrid version of it and basketball instead of normal basketball

Not to be sexist, but there is such a big gap between women's BMX freestyle and the men's. With the swimming, athletics, rowing, etc., they visually look similar outside of the time or distance at the end, but the tricks the women did a while ago are nothing compared to what the men are doing.
