Imagine you can run 2.21 over 1000 m
After you have done 4k already
Did they ask the couch sitters if they could win a medal over 5k if they trained a bit

Jordan Chiles was initially placed fourth in the gymnastics, was then challenged and instead given third place, and this has now been reversed.
wtf is this Nike commercial. Everyone in it is competing in the Olympics and then they randomly spread Kobe Laker clips throughout

Id gladly watch Sydney more. I don't know much about running but feels like she could have won more events should she have entered.
USA team should be tested for drugs. I swear this Olympics, the athletics team is resembling 1970s East Germany.

By inky Go To PostSydney, generational talent top to bottomOnly one women in 80s Kratochvílová ran faster split time. (47,6)
47.7 is same as Felix once did and Felix was also an exceptional athlete (Femke ran 47.9 in mixed relays, also top 8 ever splits not bad just not Sydney)
Can't believe basketball fans complain about football players overreacting over fouls. These guys are much worse.
France only won one medal in athletics this Olympics, a silver medal in women's 100m hurdles. This matches their performance in Tokyo but in Rio, they had 3 silver and 3 bronze. Home advantage did not help them.

For those of you who have enjoyed the Athletics and want to watch more, the easiest way is through the Diamond League.
It last for 5 months, each event takes place in a single evening and each features only a subset of the events, rotated each time. Points are awarded for placement and the Diamond League winner is the person who totals the most points over the year, with the winner receiving a cash prize. It's the most lucrative event and so it is the most competitive outside the major tournaments. It last about 2 hours on TV (in the UK you can watch it on iPlayer).

Got some big names in 11 days time. Duplantis will probably go for a new record again.
Athletissima will bring together the entire podium from the Paris Olympics 400m race on Wednesday night: Quincy Hall (gold), Matthew Hudson-Smith (silver), and Muzala Samukonga will run at La Pontaise on the 22nd of August, as well as the new Olympic champion of the 1500m, Cole Hocker.
The American Quincy Hall, with an impressive finish, achieved the 5th fastest time in history in Paris with 43.40 seconds, narrowly beating the Briton Matthew Hudson-Smith, who broke the European record. Both men will meet again in Lausanne, as well as the impressive bronze medalist, Zambian Muzala Samukonga.
In the 1500m, the 2021 Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen (NOR), already announced for Lausanne, will face one of his “tormentors” from Paris, the new and surprising Olympic champion Cole Hocker (USA). The latter has run very few races in the Wanda Diamond League so far.
In the long jump, the Olympic silver medalist Wayne Pinnock (JAM) and bronze medalist Mattia Furlani (ITA) will once again compete against the Swiss star Simon Ehammer. The women’s 800m also promises to be highly competitive, with Kenyan Mary Moraa, 3rd in Paris, American Athing Mu, and Briton Jemma Reekie, in addition to the Swiss athletes led by Rachel Pellaud and Audrey Werro. Finally, in the pole vault at the City Event, the Greek Emmanouíl Karalís, 3rd in Paris, will compete against the fabulous Armand Duplantis and Sam Kendricks (both already announced).

So many pieces of shit in this world, go to just about any Olympians IG that's proudly posting their bronze or silver medals and there's miserable trolls criticizing them in the comments.
If I won a bronze I don’t think I’d give a shit what anyone else says.
It’s an incredibly rare honor. You have maybe 3 chances to win a medal depending on your sport.
Obviously as a competitor, you’ll be disappointed because everyone wants to win, but some asshole who gets gassed walking from the parking lot to the Walmart? That opinion will mean less than nothing.
