By n8 dogg Go To PostDidn’t we rekt Newcastle before the season finished
And knocked them out of Yoorop
Stfu dweeb
We knocked you out of a domestic cup too (0-3 at Old Trafford)!
And beat you at home. First time finishing above you in the PL. That seemed even more unlikely than ever winning a cup when I was a kid, so I'll take it, thanks Eric!
Couldn't give a fuck about not being in the Conference League

Well, something has to go in there!

"A video shown at the hotel at the final team meeting on the Saturday morning before they left for Wembley had a particularly rousing effect. It featured a female member of United’s security team who had previously worked for the British military and whose story had moved Ten Hag reliving the day in Afghanistan she became trapped in a village with her platoon. Outnumbered and in grave danger, she explained how they worked together to escape. Not all of her colleagues were so lucky and ended up sacrificing their own lives to save villagers. The video was interspersed with images of United players winning individual duels during games as Ten Hag attempted to convince his squad they could also overcome the odds."
"The previous afternoon they had been shown an edit from the hit US sports movie Any Given Sunday and the iconic motivational speech given by Al Pacino’s character, Tony D’Amato, coach of the fictional Miami Sharks (watch here). In it, D’Amato urges his players to “heal as a team” rather than “dying as individuals” and Ten Hag had footage of Pacino’s voiceover and the U2 hit song One cut with footage of every one of his United players in action."

By NiceGuy Go To PostMan Utd could easily have finished in the bottom half with the state of their performances last season, and I don't think the injuries come close to accounting for that level of underperformance.Definitely does. Says a lot about United's depth that losing Martinez and Shaw just destroyed any semblance of defense though.

Injury crisis is only an excuse up to a point. Newcastle had just as miserable a season injuries-wise, and performed much better.

I’m sure it was cut exactly as you imagine because clearly these people are just next level stupid.

By n8 dogg Go To PostInjury crisis is only an excuse up to a point. Newcastle had just as miserable a season injuries-wise, and performed much better.I didnt say it's an excuse, but it does account for a lot for the underperformance. ETH insistence on his style of play even when we doesnt have the players for it? Yeah, that's another.
There is no way United would have won against City without Martinez passing from the back.
By n8 dogg Go To Postwhile i get ur pointWe scored a cool 28(!!!) more goals in the league
Their performances were much better.
I watched almost every minute of United's season, almost every performance was an embarrassment. Wide open, conceding chance after chance, to teams fighting relegation.
The extra quality United have over the teams below them is the only reason they won some of these games and ended up 8th. Without Bruno I think United would have finished 14th or 15th.
Don't forget we also finished bottom of a baby easy Champions League group. With 1 win from 6.

A lot of United cringe here today.
Anyway now is the time London boys. Added bonus you get to meet me

We can't even get Liam fucking Rosenoir to come to the club. Something is very badly wrong at Sunderland again.
Probably the right duration for the extension. Gets two seasons under INEOS to show he's bringing the club in the right direction and that the new, DOF lead structure is working.
Or if things are still really bad we can cut our losses early without taking too much of a financial hit paying out his contract.

By Willkiller Go To PostWe scored a cool 28(!!!) more goals in the leagueSame number of points innit. Turns out those goals didn't translate into anything substantial.
I'd have been pissed if I was an United fan with today's news. But then again, Arteta was worse than him in his first 2 seasons overall. Gotta hope he turns then around like Arteta did for us. I can't see it. Arteta at least had hair and good looks.
By Lego Go To PostI'll be dead before United win the Premier League againyou're leaving us in the next 12 months ;_;
By inky Go To PostSame number of points innit. Turns out those goals didn't translate into anything substantial.Well the question was about quality of performances in the season, so i'd say it's pretty relevant to that.
If you want a really successful season you likely need to both attack and defend really well. You didn't attack well, you didn't defend well. We didn't defend well, but we were very stong in attack.
So yes, we got the same amount of points, but in terms of big problems we have to solve for next season we really have to look at the defence. You need a serious improvement in both areas.
I don't think it's correct to say anything is "solved" unless you're a team with a longer sustained level of excellence. Things can just as easily fall apart season to season. United are hardly the only team to whom this has happened.
But yes, there was a big gulf in performances and goal output during similar injury heavy spells. I just think it's a bit of an empty gap when points are points at the end of the season.

Going to the Copa América Final. Also going to Uruguay vs Panamá and Chile vs Canada. Would've loved to have gone to an Ecuador game but all our games are on the west coast. Due to cost of travel, I decided to go the Final instead.

So you are going to Ecuador game then.
By JesalR Go To PostNow, where's my Robbie Keane LFC shirt at again, better go through the closet 😑
Just got an email about the new Spurs shirt. The sleeves are blue. They have the easiest shirt to get right, yet often seem to try and get it wrong.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostSo you are going to Ecuador game then.Extremely unlikely. We've never made the Final, ever. Best we've done was semis in '93 when we last hosted. I expect nothing from this team cause it's not even a real team. It's just a bunch of Independiente del Valle products brought together so they can be showcased and sold. The manager is a useless puppet and is absolute shit even if he weren't (he's Qatar's former manager).
By KimoSan Go To PostJust got an email about the new Spurs shirt. The sleeves are blue. They have the easiest shirt to get right, yet often seem to try and get it wrong.I like it, makes me think about the 05/06 kit, and anything that reminds me of Edgar Davids is great
By Xpike Go To Postat least you arent losing all 3 games m8Thankfully we got an easy group and so did Argentina. If we win our group, we avoid Argentina and get the runner-up of their group. Probably Chile who got their mojo back after hiring Ricardo Gareca. He wanted to manage us but negotiations broke down cause he wanted to pick players but our crooked and broke federation said no cause their priority is showcasing players to sell, not winning. No way that stupid-ass decision comes back to haunt us, no sir.
By JesalR Go To PostI like it, makes me think about the 05/06 kit, and anything that reminds me of Edgar Davids is greatI don't dislike it. I just think the all white shirts are your best. And I do think the away is very nice color combo.

only one of us isn’t being serious
