By bud Go To Postnetherlands v canado in an hourUsed to be I didn't care much for Copa América group stage since it was 12 teams in the groups and 8 went through knockouts, only would watch my country's games and the knockout rounds. This year it's 16 teams in groups and 8 through, I will watch every single game. Just like in 2016. I used to love the Euros when it was 16 teams in the groups and 8 through, almost as much as the World Cup. It felt like a mini World Cup minus Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. Now that's it 24 teams in groups and 16 go through, the group stage is completely pointless, the quality of the competition has been significantly diluted, and I don't watch groups anymore.
not feeling the euros mood yet

The sheer ignorance by which they talk about football teams. Have they not seen the unsustainable growing divide between the upper and lower leagues? I suppose they don’t think their teams are at least partially responsible.
These fans are so blinded by tribalism that they’ve begun cheering for the mega-corporations that own them.
Fuck. Off.

Even RAWK (I know) has a shitload of fairly prominent posters who have suddenly decided that multi-club ownership is good actually and has no negative impact on the identity of the clubs that get dragged under the umbrella.
Can guarantee that 99% of them were completely against it until it turned out that Liverpool want to do it.

Have to say, as much as I'm not very attracted to the idea, that all of the ITKs seem to be saying the same thing - INEOS really like Southgate.

Greenwood has been linked with Benfica, Record has said they've talked with the player's agent.
I've seen a Benfica fan say that what Greenwood did wasn't that bad, that Harriet Robson is too hot, Marcus just had a boner and she wouldn't give it up. He was young and the testosterone kicked in so he did what he had to do.
That's enough internet for the day.

Very curious what INEOS think would transfer over from international to club for Southgate. I think he’s done a pretty great job, all things considered - but I see very little of what he HAS done well that is easily replicated in a different context.
By Laboured Go To PostNo I don't mean Delaney.Genuine question, has there been any suggestion that he's actually high up on the list by anyone that actually knows anything?
Because all i've ever seen is tenuous links from tabloids because he's got a relationship with Ratcliffe?
Always seemed pretty clear that the Southgate story because more of a thing than it (very likely) is, because it generates a lot of clicks because of how crazy of an appointment it would be. It's an absolute engagement bomb for both Man U fans and...anyone else interested in football.
No it's more people who don't post much unless they get info from inside the club (like Dan Harris - so not journalists per se) who say they've heard that a deal has more or less been done for him already at this point.

Even the tabloid rags aren't even going as strong as saying he's their clear number 1 candidate if ETH goes, never mind a secret (well, not so secret) deal being agreed while Southgate is actively preparing for the Euros and you still have ETH employed.
Robbie Keane stepping down as Maccabi Tel Aviv manager after winning the league last month. Next Ireland coach?

sounds like benfica are close to signing pavlidis.
By bud Go To Postsounds like benfica are close to signing pavlidis.Yeah, seems to be a done deal. Might be the year of the Greek strikers in Lisbon as Fotis Ioannidis seems to be our biggest transfer target right now, apparently Amorim already called him.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostWill you guys sell Gyokeres already? We need those sell-on fee monies.No. We need a striker that can be a backup or play with Gyokeres. Paulinho had a great season coming off the bench but he is a much different player from Viktor and could be leaving this summer.

Southgate would be a Solksjaer like appointment. Someone that'll set a good tone around the club, set a loose playing structure and let the lads get on with it.
But unlike Solksjaer, he won't be arriving to a squad that needed a boost after Mourinho's toxic reign. By all accounts the players like and respect Ten Hag. Our issues this season have been a mixture of poor recruitment, fitness and tactical.
Unless we bring in someone that's clearly more adept tactically than Ten Hag, I don't think we can improve. And I'm more willing to write this season off as misadventure through trying something different, than to say pack it on and find someone else to manage. If we're able to identify someone clearly better than the current manager then go for it. But I'm not sure we can.

Barton has always been a massive cunt, but his drastic lurch into culture wardom makes more sense in light of this. Much like Russell Brand being accused of sexual assault and moving from anti-vax grifterism to now finding religion. No doubt he'll blame the wokes.
