That performance had nothing to do with us not winning the league.
6 others games with dropped points that stopped us winning the league when we should have been picking up the maximum.
Of course it did. You should have been braver, City were there for the taking that day. You win that and you win the league.
It's still been a brilliant season for you, but you could have and should have been braver

Kinda shite that we already know next season's final table will have at least one *points deduction footnote
I can't believe, after all the injuries, and (imo) a real lack of creative players in the squad, we scored 85 fucking goals
OC20 just turned to me and said
“Dad, I’ve seen City win 4x Premier League titles, 1 UCL, 1 European Super Cup, 1 Club World Cup, 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup.”

Or we get spanked and then everyone says we were naive and should have played more conservative.
We executed our game plan and could have won that game with better finishing.
We did what we needed to at City.
Then we lose 2-0 at home to Villa.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostThis is a bad take.Disagree Shanks, it is a mindset and I think you need that for a final step.

But squad is young and getting better, still time enough to learn from it and do it in one of the up comming seasons {do need a good 9).
Arsenal's performances in the biggest games put them in the race far more than it cost them. 8 points from their four games against us and City, City got 3 as did Liverpool.
If I was an Arsenal fan I'd wonder how it would have gone if they'd won at the Etihad, but it would be all the other dropped points that really stings.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostOr we get spanked and then everyone says we were naive and should have played more conservative.Yeah this is why we're saying...be braver. You came into that game in absolute red hot goal scoring form, City were in a sticky spot with injuries and they didn't play well.
We executed our game plan and could have won that game with better finishing.
We did what we needed to at City.

It doesn't mean go hell for leather from minute 1, but the way the game played out...a winner was there.

@DHOTYA
I remember being 23 months old and saying to my dad.
“Dad, that 2-0 to Liverpool was the most amazing ending to a season in my lifetime. Someone should write a book about it and then turn it into a movie starting Colin Firth.”

Jude just turned to me and said ‘Dad, I’m only two months old but Ten Hag out’ and everyone in the polling station cheered

(a win against City would have also taken a point off them too, obviously)

By Dr3up Go To PostExactly any of those home games would have put us over.Yeah I know. I didn't say the City game was the most important instance of dropped points or anything, I just said it's a fair take to say you could have been braver than settling for a 0-0 in that gam. You came into it after scoring 23 goals in your previous 5 games.
I really don’t think any Arsenal fan will look back at a 0-0 at the Etihad and not regret going for it. That Villa one will be the one that sticks in the throat.
Watching Klopp. Love the bloke tbh. Will always wish he managed United over any other manager post-Fergie.
Bad season. But excited for the future. We finally have a structure to build moving forward.
POTY United bros?
Goal of the season, United bros?
It's between Dalot and Mainoo for me.

The way they lost against Villa didn't make any sense, that's the worst thing about it. They didn't play very well in the first half, but the second half was just nothing to the point that you'd think it was a dead rubber.
West Ham at home when we had about 20 chances on goal and failed to score is the one for me.
But at the same time you can sit here saying oh what if we'd just won this game or drawn that game but you can say the same about the games like Luton where we scored in the last minute where we could have easily dropped points.
At the end of the day we've won 28 games and got 89 points, I couldn't be prouder of the team.
