Big clubs should have been all over him, but I think he's smart enough to know he's got a very good thing going at Villa and his stock is likely to only go up, not down.It didn't particularly work out at PSG or Arsenal, I think most big clubs will be leery that 'Europa League' is basically his level unless he can do something special with Villa

Done something pretty special with Villa since coming in. Results speak for themselves and he's likely to win another European cup this year.
He left PSG 6 years ago, left Arsenal 5 years ago so he's had plenty of experience since then. What he's done with Villa isn't going to get ignored for much longer by the big boys if he keeps at it.
I'm not sure big clubs have really cared about what anyone is doing in the Europa League since AVB at Porto , never mind the Conference League
If he has another good league season with Villa next year he'll be on some radars I reckon, anything they do in the CL will be a bonus. Think the manner of his departure at Arsenal has had a bit of an outsized impact on his reputation. Their fans didn't just want a change, they were sick and tired of watching the team iirc. Was a weird job for anyone to take though, simultaneously replacing a legendary and all-powerful manager, and inheriting a complete shitshow.

Emery's Villa have been overperforming a bit so I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped off a little next season. But their real luck has come from their rivals - Chelsea and United are a joke, while Newcastle and Spurs have been crippled by injuries. Change any one of those and Villa are not qualifying for the CL.
By Cleff Go To PostVery West HamWouldn't be surprised if he wanted full control and a bigger wage that West Ham was willing to give.

Their 22/23 form implies the same thing though, and that was him coming in the middle of a disastrous season. I think if we were totally injury free we'd be ahead of them for sure, but Villa have also had pretty significant injury trouble so it's a pretty meaningless "what if".
They very well might drop off a little next season with CL too (though Emery is far more experienced than Howe in dealing with multiple competitions at once, so I wouldn't expect such a harsh drop off). It's not just that they're 4th though, they're only 8 points off the top.
Manager of the season for sure if they seal 4th and win the UECL.

Sort it out, Willi.
City will go for Paqueta and Arsenal won't pay the 100m release clause

Emery would be a great manager for United.
O'Neill a former Liverpool youth coach though I highly doubt he's been interviewed or in the running.

Roger Schmidt got hit by a water bottle thrown by a Benfica fan at the end of the match yesterday. Benfica won that match 3-1.
Schmidt complained about the fans that were booing the players during the match, he also complained about the booing after Benfica beat Marseille 2-1 at home and implied that the booing affected the players and how they played in Marseille on the 2nd leg.
He also said that the fans that booed the players aren't really Benfica fans and they should just stay home because they aren't needed on the stadium.
Schmidt has the right to be upset but that's a shitty thing to say. He is going to war with the fans and the situation is going to reach the point of no return.

Things were going well for Ole until the dressing room was poisoned by Sancho and Ronaldo. And they'd both been fucked off within months under the new manager.

Big clubs should have been all over him, but I think he's smart enough to know he's got a very good thing going at Villa and his stock is likely to only go up, not down. His stint in Russia was his only bad work imo, everywhere else I'd say he's done at least fine. So I don't think it matters much either way if he does fail at villa from here onwards after the job he's already done so far. But his rep can go down, just probably not by a lot
I would say though that 4th-7th type clubs is his bread and butter, or it has been so far at least
By Laboured Go To PostBet they asked him to kiss the St. George's cross before they let him in for the interview."Now Reuben, when you buy pears from a market stall what unit of measurement do you use?"

By Willkiller Go To PostI saw the first part of that quote and thought it was aimed at Antony initially, lol. He's telling the press that? Incredible.
