Foden in the middle is where its at.
Pep has to find a way to make this a more permanent thing regardless of if KDB plays.

Didn't realize the new game week started so early so I didn't adjust my FPL team. Has turned out that 6 outfield players didn't play this week. -_- At least all 3 subs did.

Lame, Messi isn't playing tonight for CCL quarterfinals. Outside of the Leagues Cup run, his tenure here has been disappointing tbh. It feels like it always in question whether he plays every single game. It feels like he only plays once or twice a month. A friend of mine subbed to Apple TV+ and he's angry cause he's only played twice there. I'd be angry too.

Who was the daft cunt in here saying they never see him do anything?
Still never seen him do anything other than pass the ball backwards.
But you know what, I take back what I said. This guy is clearly on some Machiavelli level shit. Put in the worst performance of any player at the weekend, just so he can take Aston Villa by surprise.

It is a myth that you have to be on the title winning team to get player of the year. Here are all the previous PFA Players of the Year, with the bolded names being players who didn't win the title that season. 9/14 of the past winners have not won the league that year.

Leverkusen have Union Berlin away, Werner Bremen at home and Dortmund away. Win these three and they are Neverkusen no more.

Pool win it I suppose salah or vvd
Player of the season:
Arsenal win = Gabriel
Liverpool = Van Djik
City = Foden/Rodri
Whenever ive watched Arsenal this season Gabriel has been better than Saliba imo.

They might not always give the player of the year award to someone playing for the Champions, but one thing they hardly ever do is give the award to defenders. 4 in PL history if you count Kante. I would be very surprised if it went to players like Van Dijk, Saliba, Gabriel, or Rodri over attacking options
Just absolutely incapable of policing themselves. Like all of the stuff that caused the govt to say "yeah you need an independent regulator" years ago are just right there writ large in the headline.
I mean it's not working though. 10 years ago 100m over three years may have seemed like a big loss but most clubs can eat that for appetisers these days. Add a luxury tax and give a % to efl so teams can have a chance when they come up because the gap is becoming too big.
Don't @ me, but if you look at the games that Arsenal have lost this season...Gabriel was a bit suspect in all the opposition goals
He's still been extremely good on the whole though

Yeah...PSR is fucking bollocks and it's just not working.
Has it protected Everton from financial ruin? No. Financial protection for clubs was the intended (well...the stated...) purpose. It isn't working, the points deduction situation is complete shit for many reasons. The league is completely in danger of losing its essence, sporting entertainment. It's in danger of becoming a battle of the best accountants and boardroom strategists, rather than the best football teams.
There should be restrictions financially, to both protect clubs and to stop state owned clubs from creating a complete monopoly...but PSR is not it (and neither is the UEFA revenue % cap...thing)

If an Arsenal player were to win it then I think it would not be an attacker because nobody has really stood out.
I think it would be a case of giving it to an attacker on an opposition team if attacking is what people value.

Gabriel has been very good, but I feel he has been good because Saliba is there. The lad is a mess when Saliba is absent, which I don’t think has been common this season.
I was nervous the whole time Sunday because i didn’t think Gabriel had it in him to be switched on for 90 minutes.

Seems a bit disingenuous, Everton continued to throw money away like morons because there were never any consequences for doing so. If they had been stung 5 years ago instead of now, maybe they wouldn't have wasted so much more. It says in the article that teams hardly spent any money in the January window because they suddenly realized they actually had to obey the rules.
If Leverkusen win the league unbeaten, it’s one of the great achievements in modern football.
If they win the domestic cup too? They’ll have done what Milan 91-92, Arsenal 03-04 and Juventus 11-12 couldn’t do. Celtic won a domestic treble unbeaten in 2016-17, but obviously it’s Scottish football lol.
If they win the Europa too? Oh BABY.

Gabriel defo has a mad mistake in him but he's been brilliant since the turn of the year IMO and with Saliba, they've been the best defensive partnership in the league this season.

Genuine question.
Why do you think Foden is in with a shout?
Never liked Foden and think he is average at best based on what I have seen over the years, to the point I genuinely wonder why he even makes the bench at City. (I think he was the worst player on the pitch Sunday)
But I haven’t watched a ton of football the last few years and not watching City outside of the bigger matches, so genuinely find it interesting that people rate him highly.

So Everton have only started to reign it in because of the sporting ramifications? The consequences on how fucked the whole club is financially are far past a points deduction. If they don't get taken over, they face administration. If the rules were there to protect clubs from that...they have failed, empirically.
The rules have both not been enough to stop a massive club from racing ruin, while also severely limiting sporting competition.
The answer to why, of course, is because protecting clubs financially was never actually the reason it's there. It's completely half baked at best in that regard.

Scores lots of goals. Contributes massively to their control of the game. Pep rates him super highly. City look leagues better with him in than they do Doku or Grealish.
I just like his game.
