By FortuneFaded Go To PostWho would be in line to be ETH's replacement? McKenna?
hands off Scott McKenna
Fucking anyone. The players are playing the way he is coaching them to, simple as that. He's inept.
You can regularly see better football from teams fighting relegation with players who wouldn't get near United's squad. You don't need great players to play good football, but let's say he doesn't have the players to play the system he really wants to... The one he's chosen as a backup is laughably bad. Like a toddler is just clicking buttons in Football Manager.
Nevermind the fact he signed half of them to begin with, and continues to pick them. He thinks we're doing well, the man is deluded, inspirationless, and a wanker. And you would never find me saying these sort of things about managers like Van Gaal, Ole, even Ralf Rangnick.

By Cleff Go To PostOne thing I've always thought City and Liverpool were best in class for was in recruiting physically dominant players. They play brilliant football obviously, but for years their players also won the majority of their gound duels/headers and can press relentlessly when needed.
VVD, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Wijnaldum. Kompany, Gundogan, Walker, Rodri etc were all incredibly gifted athletically. Arsenal have also started loading their squad with athletes too.
There's nobody in the United squad that can match that athletic profile at least in midfield or defence. I think we were trying to reach that level with our own system, but clearly we've botched it. Haven't recruited well enough. It's also probably down to our inability to hold onto the ball well enough. City can pick and choose this moments to up their physicality/athleticism. We're trying to go 100mph every minute with aging and injury prone players.
I don't know what players are out there that can help us reach that level, but I'm sure there are some. Branthwaite and Amadou Onana have been linked heavily and look the part at least.
I think United have a fair few players that fit that profile, and there are plenty at Liverpool who do not. Recruitment at CM has been problematic for sure, but ultimately I think the reason you see City and Liverpool players looking so athletic is because the teams have been built and coached to play under a tactical identity. I think they look athletic because they’re usually in the right place at the right time to do their job.
Not that we don’t have freaks like Salah, VVD and Walker who exemplify what you’re talking about, and yeah the teams have continually renewed these very expensive contracts for a reason.
I do think it's hard to look fit and strong when your strategy is to do 50 full pitch sprints a game.
São Paulo is a retirement home. James, Lucas Moura, Rafinha all play there. The two latter of the three got injured this match. They made Robert Arboleda captain after Rafinha got hurt, what a fucking joke.
For whatever reason, Bein Sports Español now has HDR on the Roku Fanatiz app and I dig it.

what a blast from the past
The promise of the Powell Moura future will never be forgotten.
What's funnier is that statistically we're about 11 points better off than our play actually merits this season, and it's still the worst season I've ever seen.

By Willkiller Go To PostMan U have equalled their most ever losses in a PL season already. Liverpool pls. Will, m8. You know how this ends…
I just don't think it's sustainable that a manager needs to rely on two key, yet injury prone, players staying fit to squeeze any sort of decent performance out of an entire team.
Over nearly two seasons under ETH, we've only managed to string about 3-4 months worth of form together. We've been almost exclusively dogshit ever since the Carabao final.

No fitness coach still blowing my mind like you’re spending hundreds of millions a year, and you can’t afford one fitness coach? Am I missing something here?
By Scum Go To PostWill, m8. You know how this ends…Man U draw to Liverpool but then lose to Sheff Utd in their next home game to beat the record?

No set pieces coach even though we are literally relegation level at set pieces despite having great set piece takers and reasonably good headers of the ball in our team.

By n8 dogg Go To PostThey'll spank Everton imo, but yeah...I could see them drawing at the weekend.

God, I'm tired of all those questions to Amorim about if he is staying. It's a press conference before a derby that could be crucial for the title, there's more important things right now, even a journalist said that it seems that a lot of people in Portugal want to see him go.
And for the Liverpool fans wondering what Amorim said, he said he couldn't guarantee that he will stay for the next season because at the start of the season he said to the players and to the public that if he doesn't win anything this season he is leaving because a team like Sporting can't be two seasons without winning anything.
If he wins, he won't force his way out of the club, everything has to be agreed with Sporting because he owes a lot to the club and he is very happy here.

By n8 dogg Go To PostJust like I've been saying, they need to stick with Ten Hag.
By Plasma Go To PostThis made me laugh. Well played.
Joint 8th on impact subs, you'll never sing that.
By inky Go To PostSome players are trying, but there's a difference between trying to rescue something for personal shame and trying (ie actually exerting effort and being concentrated) to play the way the manager intends.
Some players couldn't give less of a shit and not even play for themselves.
He came on in the 66th min 💀
To be fair though, ETH has been out there today praising his form, attitude and motivation. So I guess he's performing at the level he's asked to.
I'm just gonna pretend that yesterday's result didn't happen and will not acknowledge it anymore
