I go there for oysters all the time.
Happy Birthday Martins
RIP Lavia.
Such a promising career.
I did express concerns he was always picking up knocks and couldn’t go more than 60 mins a match but I didn’t expect his leg to fully fall off

So, Ecuador's minister of sport has been beefing with my club for a few months over my club's elections. His brother and my club's president got into a heated Twitter exchange. They decided to throw hands over the matter:
Also one of our national team veterans Robert Arboleda, 32 years old, snuck in our 16 year old wonderboy Kendry Páez that Chelsea bought into a strip club before they played Italy in New York:
Strip clubs in New York (and most the U.S.) are 21+. This was very illegal. Gonzala Plata was there too. He begged to be allowed back to the national team after his DUI crash in Spain. Arboleda has twice gotten in other embrassing incidents. The worst part is these clowns have their heads so far up their asses, they were defiant on social media instead of showing a shred of contrition. They went into another country, broke laws, and made a public embarassment of themselves representing our country.
I desperately need this international break to end. This fuckery surrouding my club and national team is too much.

You only have to be 18 to enter most strip clubs in the US. 21 to drink so most clubs don't allow anyone in under that age, but it is typically up their discretion.
By Dr3up Go To PostDont you work at a strip club?Nah I left the industry in Jan 2022. I live the glorious work from home life now. Besides, as an employee, I'd be pretty fucking pissed if we let a 16 year old in. It puts the liquor license in jeopardy which puts everyone's livelihoods in jeopardy. Regulatory agencies do not play with that shit. As a fan, I am not happy that our 16 year old wonderkid is being corrupted by a repeat offender twice his age who should be teaching him professionalism.

Most places are a strict 21+ with few places admitting 18 year old customers, unless they don't sell alcohol. Some states do a trade off (full nudity but no alcohol). It's almost never up to the club's discretion and they have to follow the strict letter of the law or get shutdown if authorities find out. What they will do is hire dancers under 21 and even that is going away in Florida at least. My former workplace recently fired all under 21 dancers to comply with new mandates. I was in the industry for 9 years and have been to joints all over the country for both work and pleasure.

I was in at 18 while I was a carpet cleaner for two years after high school. The guy I worked with was married to a dancer who trained girls during the day shift and we would go in once or twice a week for the buffet. It was a very common thing to do when turning 18 at the time too.
By Punished Go To PostThe FAI have completely botched this. Lee Carsley was our first choice and when he turned it down we panicked. You can see that by the amount of different managers we've been linked to in recent weeks.
Would be a disaster but may as well.

That criteria fit both Carsley and Poyet afaik, but then it came out that the Carsley pursuit never really went anywhere and he'd turned them down weeks before it became known, and the Poyet link seems to have died as well.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes, lads. You're all awesome.
What definitely isn't awesome is the Disciplinary Committee of Portuguese League. Dário Essugo was suspended for 30 day for something that happened with a ball boy in the match against Guimarães 4 months.
A court has accepted a temporary suspension of the ban and has heavily criticized the Disciplinary Committee because the only proof they had was the ball boys testimony, there was nothing on ref and officials reports, no video proof to back up the ball boy.
Want to know the best part? The ball boy is 22 years old, 6 years old than the allowed age.

He's bored, with nothing better to do, innit. But seriously, might have been better to let him play as a good distraction and get him whatever help he needs instead.
Few of our local journos are saying we're expecting the FA to treat the period as one, meaning he'll avoid a new ban with them letting any 'new' punishment to run concurrently to his existing Italian FA ban. Seems far too sensible considering they don't even let players charged with betting offences to train.
By JesalR Go To PostCan’t stop, wont stop.
What a guy
I'm interested to know why it would be treated as one period and run concurrently. Weren't the other charges from an entirely different controlling body, in an entirely different country from an entirely different season?
Happy birthday Martins
Seems excessive to ban Tonali for any longer. Doubt it would be any help to conquering his gambling addiction.

I mean, he gambled while playing and gambled while not playing, so what's the presumption here?
Also, for general sporting integrity reasons, there does just have to be actual punitive consequences for players that gamble. I do absolutely agree the sport has hypocritical problems with its gambling sponsorships, but that does in no real way vitiate the former point.

What do you mean he gambled while not playing? The time period the FA has specified is before he was banned by the Italian FA.
"there does just have to be actual punitive consequences for players that gamble". Yeah, he's literally serving a 10 month worldwide ban for that. The question I'm asking, is what would a new ban achieve that the current one wouldn't? Simply more punishment?
Oh yeah, forgot he was not actually banned until late October.
I think a new ban would send a message of zero tolerance to other players. I'm not sure I like the message that "he's had enough punishment already" sends to other possible repeat offenders, or indeed any player contemplating doing it.
I don't think it helps Tonali but that's not what primarily this is about.
