No answer will matter, because even within that different clubs have different roles and responsibilities for each job. People, for some reason, have associated sporting directors mostly with transfer dealings...which isn't usually/always the case. Been funny to see Man U fans talk about Ashworth in the context of him being a transfer guru...which isn't really true or even why he gets brought in
