Based on testing best guess for R1 in Barain its Max with Checo/Ferrari behind him. Have some doubt if Merc has the Q pace and doubt if McLaren has the race pace, add Fernando in that mix for the bigger points.
This year it is DRS lap activation after 1 lap, so we might see some more action, or DRS trains, in the first stint (restarts). And one more time the reminder, Thursday/Friday/Saturday (first two races)

Mercs are back......still would not read to much in to it (see Hulk time). But they definitely made a step as their time is similar to their Q time in '23. I don't think RBR/Ferrari were trying as much, looking at what they did in testing, but we will see tomorrow.

Max 3/4 (tenths up on Sergio, started quicker though) 3/5 tenths quicker than the Mercs, Ferrari just behind them. McLaren not that far behind them but speedtraps bit higher (engine mode or ST just after corner?) and Fernando just behind those two. (Max 36,5/Mercedes around 37)

Gaps look some what similar to final 1/3 rd last season, but at least other teams are starting the year better than last year. (RBR not out of reach 3/4 tenths)

Hard to call F2 with new cars, but Lindblad looked really good in F3,. Was very good in karting, started F4euro mega, but disappeared in the end season. Car controller and mega aggressive, was nice.

Gaps closer, taking in to account Max 1 tenth slipstream. Max was unhappy with lap, was just good enough. Thought based on testing they would hit high 28s

F1 field def bunching up over 1 lap. Expecting RB to dominate on race pace. Merc could be handy too.

but I hope race pace gaps are smaller as well and than with 3 DRS zones (activation after lap 1) we get a bunched up top 10 until first stops and a nice strategic race. All cars look better at the rear-end so they should be able to control wear better.
But if Max can break DRS than a few tenths a lap are probably gonna be enough.
