What's everyone's vacation plans for 2024?
i'm thinking about going back to japan because it's cool and the yen is in a dumpster so it's pretty affordable. maybe do Korea first then Japan.

London for Xmas with a few days in Ireland or Italy.

Otherwise I'll stay in Europe this year.

I am... not going to Japan.
Will prolly do my annual trip to Turkey.
And then somewhere else (probably in Europe) for a nice break.
Had talked to my parents about us all going on a family trip to see my brother in Turks and Caicos but not sure if that'll happen now as my parents are moving house.

We are thinking of going somewhere tropical to lounge on a beach resort for a week. Been looking into the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, or Saint Martin.

we should buy a slaent house in japan, i heard they are extremely cheap ($25k) and then we can all go whenever we want like a time share.

Carribean cruise in February which should be cool. We've got Japan locked for Star Wars convention attendance in 2025 and honestly...I'm not too hyped. Very expensive, very far, no hope of learning the language. I'm sure it'll end up being easier to navigate than I expect though.
Doing Den Haag next month, then Portugal and Hungary in the summer normally.
Saving up some days for next year when I go a month to Kenya.

By Fenderputty Go To PostWas thinking Hawaii for the 15th anniversary but funds may keep me local.
Funny I've been having a niggling feeling to go back there. Haven't been since my honeymoon and probably my second fav holiday. But the cost and trsvelling that distance with two kids makes me nautious.
Will obviously be going dubai because I love it there. Hopefully same spot is available in same resort, may save that for Xmas.
Son wants to go Jamaica, I do not, but tick it off. All the places I would like to stay are adults only. If we carribean would rather go Antigua.
Will probably be just the two this year.
We just got back from Canada + the Dominican Republic, which was fantastic. I had never done an all inclusive before, but it was nice to just take off all the stress of the year.
Heading to Canada again in Feb for a wedding
South Africa in April
Unsure what the back half of the year looks like

You're just going back to Turkiye for the cats :p
Hopefully disappearing to North Cyprus for a few months late spring to see how feasible it is to sell up here and move there.

Probably closer to 500k to 750k where visitors would want one.

Heading to Puerto Rico in April.
10 year anniversary this year. Maldives is in play, but we'll see if it happens.

Would like to go abroad in the summer since mum's 65th birthday is the day after my brother's 40th and it'd be nice to have a proper family holiday.
Get the suspicion that they'll wait so long to plan it though that it doesn't happen.

Does it count if you going abroad but will still be working? I'll be in Turkey for the whole of Feb but not planning to use any holiday days other than for the transport.
Not planning to do any long distance trips until the kids are older but our eldest really enjoys theme parks so we picked up some Merlin annual passes which give us unlimited entry to places like Legoland, Sea Life and Alton Towers. I'm going to use my days off visiting as many of these attractions as possible before he starts school in September.
Also hoping to go to Northern Ireland at some point to visit family.

i saw lots of monkey warning last time in japan and never a monkey. i'm starting to think they don't exist. it's just a fairy tale to keep foreigners from buying the cheap houses.
Got a few trips lined up for this year so far. Heading to Kaprun (Austria) two weeks from now for a week of shredding. In april I'm heading to Lisbon for a long weekend with friends. And at the end of may it's Barcelona again for Primavera Sound festival.
Luckily I still have plenty days left after this so I'm thinking about doing a trip outside of Europe in late 2024. We'll see what's possible financially.
