Was really hoping Prime day would have some cheaper NVME drives, but they’re all still well above the pre rise prices 🙃
By reilo Go To PostZabocoreMight print one to serve as a grave for my defunct Pi 4.
A 12 p-cores only CPU on a (by then) very mature LGA1700 platform might be the shit for gaming, provided these Lion Cove p-cores that will debut with Arrow Lake are up to snuff. Although CPU nerds will maybe want to wait for Zen 6 at that point, rumored to come with 16-core chiplets.
Neat. Sony released Linux drivers for the DualSense years ago so they are part of the kernel now. I haven’t tried over wireless, but every feature works as expected over usb in FF XIV. There is supposed to be a mini game I can try out the adaptive triggers in as that is the one thing I haven’t been able to test. Oh, and see what I lose when going wireless.
By Laboured Go To PostPretty sure you lose haptic stuff over wireless. It's what's stopping me from getting one.Yeah, that’s what I’ve read. Not sure if situation has changed. Probably not because haptics are sent over the audio signal (the controller actually has four audio channels so I imagine two of them are used for haptics) and they don’t have enough bandwidth over the Bluetooth standard protocol to send that along with everything else. Or the Bluetooth protocol doesn’t support whatever nonsense they are doing with their proprietary protocol they use to talk to the PlayStation.
Steve over at Hardware Unboxed is doing god's work with these comprehensive AM5 mobo overview videos.
Seeing the prices of mini-itx B650 boards and my lowly requirements in terms of features, I might honestly try min-maxing for once ... or even give ASRock a go, as they seem to be consistently producing some of the best price-to-features motherboards this gen.
Kind of sucks that B850 (and X870) mobos are launching months after Ryzen 9000, I can't imagine there will be many mini-itx boards to choose when 9xxxX3D debuts.

Do you guys have a charger station for it? I really like the little charger the Elite 2 has.
By JesalR Go To PostDualsense haptics work over wireless these days, game dependent thoughInteresting. I’ll definitely have to try.

Yeah, I know. I'm surprised the gigabit plan isn't 1000/200 like what the competing telecoms have on offer. I could upgrade to 500mbit, but it would be a complete waste of money given my needs. Even more so than upping the download from 350mbit to 1gig for 10 more euros per month was.
I imagine they'll eventually upgrade me for free.

we can all be thankful it is razer, so it's going to break after a few weeks of use anyway, and the drivers will cause your game to crash.

You kiss your mother with that ping?
Besides, we'll see who's laughing when the torrent police come knocking. My trusted lawyer Cavalo will simply deploy the 'your honour, clearly my client couldn't possibly be distributing illegal goods en masse with a measly 100mbit upload' defence. Good luck with yours, cunt.

i wonder if it really is fixed by microcode and also the performance hit that will be a result of this fix.
By HottestGrapes Go To PostI wonder why these issues skipped 12th gen. My i7 12700 continues to bless me.I need to see if I can find more technical information about the architecture of the chips, but, at a surface level, what sticks out to me is 13th and 14th gen using significantly more power to achieve their increased frequencies. If this was the difference, there probably wasn't as much voltage headroom for these chips as Intel thought there would be.
Well fams, I’m finally going through with it and have ordered a new case. Fractal Ridge.
Might even refresh things with a fresh install on Windows since it has been a good, I dunno, 7 years or so since my original install.
Not changing anything else besides the CPU cooler. Gonna have to ditch watercooling for now too. Anyone need an EK 3080/TI FE block btw? I never got round to using it.

Case is coming tomorrow so I might put it together after work if I can find my spare stock Intel cooler.
incredibly keyboard tech. i both love and hate it. it requires an optical switch, right? since that is how they can tell how far the key is depressed?
now really, can just have a sensitive keyboard.... or just press your buttons down.
you can just go ahead and do null binds in cs for it. but some are scared to get banned for it, and it's banned in some tournaments. but apparently not matchmaking and faceit. but doing it at a keyboard driver level is a fool proof way

I’ve lost my damn skills. These SFF cases are fucking hard to build in. Jesus Christ my fingers are killing me.
I’m nearly done though. Had some hiccups along the way, like the motherboard I have (Gigabyte B660i) only has a single fan header and two micro fan headers of which I lost the adapters for. So I had to cram my Quadro fan controller in.
Surprisingly it’s quite spacious for PSU cables though.
Rolling with the stock Intel cooler since a Noctua L12S doesn’t fit my motherboard. I knew it would come back to bite me when I bought a Gigabyte board. They’re always weird for ITX boards. It’s got a single M.2 slot, funky fan headers and VRM heatsink so poorly thought out that it blocks one of the most popular heatsinks for ITX boards.

I fucked up mounting the stock cooler. 99c downloading a game, lmao. Don’t have any spare thermal paste, so can’t try a remount. I’ve went straight to ordering a new heatsink instead of pissing around.
After some research on which coolers will fit my board. i decided on the Thermalright AXP90x53, full copper. Will eventually add a fan duct to it also since the case fits up to 70mm coolers.

Good luck!
My partner wants me to rebuild a self-contained sff case. :(. I will still go for one where I can at least fit dual 280mm rads, though.

When I built my computer I left the plastic on the bottom of the cooler 😊 I remembered before I turned it on though
I forgot there's a 1000W Corsair SFX PSU out now, as well as the 850W version. 30€ difference, so might as well go with the big boi.
I have absolutely no need to upgrade, but I'm definitely starting to feel the Zen 5 X3D + RTX 5000 series pre-fomo. Thinking about it for too long, until it was out of stock, saved me from ordering the NCase M2. The still god-tier status my SF750 and the considerable price of the SF1000 might save me from buying the latter well in advance of the actual PC upgrade.
Boredom is a cruel mistress.

By HottestGrapes Go To PostSF750 still the GOAT for meIndeed, although if I do end up with a 9800X3D + RTX 5900 combo, I'd sleep better with a 1000W PSU.
AXP90x53 delivered and installed. Don’t know why they had to pair a nice looking copper heatsink with such a ugly fan, but hey ho. It’s keeping things cool at least.
