Finished reading Rendezvous with Rama. Good stuff. It and Childhood's End strike me as very believable first contact scenarios. Going to read Le Grand Meaulnes now. Or I would if Storm Isha didn't bring frequent power cuts.

Oh, paperback, mo chara. I don't have the ability to multitask (so that also rules out podcasts also). I think the Shock Doctrine is the only audiobook I've listened to, back in a dead end job.

Didn't realise he actually wrote the first technical paper on geostationary communications satellites.

As far as I can tell on Redfin, most of the homes near it were built after it and the closest home is 2+ miles away

Buys a house near a race track than complains about the noise.
We don’t have many BBQ options around me so Lucille’s it was … holy shit that was the worst brisket I’ve ever seen. They took it off my bill but it was awful.
They left the fat cap on and didn’t trim and the result was slices that were between 40-60% fat. Then they cut with the grain and the fat in the meat portion wasn’t rendered. Last time is go to that joint holy fuck.
Ironically prime brisket is 4.99 a pound at Costco today and I could have bought 14 pounds for like $75. It’s the reason I was craving it. I don’t have fridge space for that much …

I've got cameras right now watching me read this website from multiple angles. Watching me type, isolating my facial expressions, my moments of deep thought, my moments of no thought at all (also known as me typing) and the most thoughtless action of all, clicking submit.

When it hits below 35F it is law that I will see at least one middle aged fat man walking around in shorts and a t-shirt
Parlay hits if he's wearing shorts and a hoodie
