I feel so deflated by FF7 Remake. Thought I was finally going to get rid of Aerith from the squad by sneaking out her house, but nope. Then I got faked out again when she tagged along for the Walled City.
On the bright side, with the right load out sheās strong as fuck in battle. Absolutely rinsing mechs with wards and double lightning attacks
I wonder how or even if thatāll effect PvP.

I wonder how people feel about western RPGs and dialog wheels if they dislike TLoU style cutscenes. Do you dislike them just the same, or is it just enough engagement for you not to see in the same light?
Personally, it's about the same to me. CP2077 is probably the one that does it best in recent memory and even then it's clunky. Ultimately, I think it's still just a cutscene.
Itās just plain old ass bullshit. Unless youāre breaking pov thereās no disconnect and this mostly hurts first person games that decide to switch to third person for cutscenes and that doesnāt work for me. Playing Halo Infinite really solidified my own personal thoughts on the matter, I get it that they want to show Master Chief because he looks cool but itās a mismatch at the end of the day.

By NiceGuy Go To PostWas watching some tlou2 reaction videos, and it got me thinking about how audacious the entire set-up of the game is.I watched a bunch of the reaction stuff too recently and it's incredible to see how people responded to Abby's day 3 climax in the theater. Just made me feel old really.
Having you (massive spoilers ahead) play as a different character, then that character kills the fan favourite, then you carry on playing as her is something else. Worked for me, kinda get why it didn't for others. Overall though I side-eye anyone that still wanted to kill Abby at the end, as though Ellie was any better morally
I do think it was a mistake to have you play as Abby during the prologue. You should have controlled Joel or even Tommy fighting that horde during their patrol route and then stumbled on and saved Abby. Leaving the Salt Lake group a complete mystery would have been more impactful than having you play as Joel's killer leading up to his death. I can't think of anything that was added by playing her there other than the information that Mel was pregnant, which didn't pay off until Ellie's day 3.
the more jokers i unlock the more unusable garbage jokers i get early in the runs. like straight up unusable for the first 4 blinds which makes me waste so much $.

After the Abby segment, you have an idea that Joel is probably the target so even after you switch back to Ellie and Dina, there's a building sense of dread in the background. The Ellie segment ends on a cute romance scene and then back to Abby and the impending doom is back in full force.

s/nbut the cutscenes where Joel dies(both of them) are the best edited, directed, animated, etc cutscenes in videogame history.
also part 1 makes the HBO adaptation look cheap.

Do you dislike them just the same, or is it just enough engagement for you not to see in the same light?I like my games to have a story / narrative and I don't much care which form the conveying of it comes in, if it's engaging and adds to the experience. It's different means to the same end, but to me the way Cyberpunk goes about it feels decidedly different than how TLOU2 does it.
I don't really have anything enlightening to say about the difference. It's intrinsic to the perspective. First person leads to a more direct form of immersion, especially when you're playing (a version of) yourself and are given (limited) choice. Third person, even more so when you find yourself in the shoes of an established character, puts you in the cinematic / voyeuristic frame of mind, where it's more about sympathizing and projecting.
I've never had a problem getting behind either approach, as long as the narrative context is well-established and interesting.

Maybe theyāre getting 1&2 mixed up, 1 has bad gameplay (the original, havenāt played the remake). 2 has phenomenal gameplay.
