Like I don’t give a shit about Mario or the vast majority of platformers, most Nintendo games honestly and I do wonder sometimes if the reason is because I didn’t get a Nintendo when I was a kid.

we also have a lot of Sega and famicom games. A lot of them suck today but Super Mario, Yoshi's Island are better than most modern games

I'm actually grateful that I got rid of the PS4 midway through that gen because I have a stack of games I'm working through that will easily last until something that I absolutely want to play on current gen arrives. So far that's only GTA VI.

I won't compare it to a different genre entirely, but I do think that TLOU2 is the best playing TPS that I've played. Controls sharply, fantastic animation, incredibly smooth transitions between stealth and action, just the right amount of recoil and reaction to taking fire, and for me the perfect number of weapon/trap options.
As much praise as ND get, I don't think that aspect of the game gets enough as it takes a backseat to the narrative. Still occasionally see people who clearly haven't played it acting like they're incapable of making games play well, which is a bit odd.
