30 million Xbox Series and metrics showing MS that only 15% will subscribe to Game Pass means that unless there's another COVID, god forbid, that they'll start to lose more subs as more of their core moves to PS5, Switch or PC.
That and their core, which for any platform is who you rely on to buy your games are content with getting most of it on the subscription is going to buy less games instead.
Add kids being more content with all these F2P games that are basically its own platform themselves.

I don't understand the Activision, or even Bethesda, deals if they weren't going to have those titles exclusive to their console or service.
I get that there can be missteps or miscalculations along the way in any business, but this is all happening within a fairly short amount of time (given the sums of money involved) that it seems like they had no plan at all, which is obviously not the case.
Unless getting out of the console space was the plan the entire time, none of this is adding up. Everything that they've done so far since making these acquisitions have hurt Xbox and this latest news is not making Game Pass more appealing at all.

Higher console prices, less innovation, and less urgency. Sure, you may now have more access to a wider selection of games, but at what price? The long term landscape may forever be doomed and the guilt will not be easily washed away with marathon sessions of Halo and Forza.

in a world where they are lucky to get to 35m consoles and 50m subs (and also had to give up CoD for 10 years) it makes less sense to go exclusive and possibly damaging your most valuable IPs forever.
