this joker wannabe guy would be roasted all day today if it was in a superhero movie trailer but in a vidya game it's considered genius. kojimbles is such a hack fraud.
Veeery interesting.
Visited my parents over the weekend and found my old Rock Band/Guitar Hero kit. Didn't want to lug it on the train, but might break one of the guitars out.
By Laboured Go To Postlol. lmaoPurple gaf blew a fuse over that video yesterday for being bad faith, and not taking into account things like the larger map, prebaked lighting and variable time of day/weather conditions.
I'm no Digital Foundry, but I can't really see how any of that can account for it looking so much worse, coming out so much later.
By Laboured Go To Postlol. lmaolook at the booty
this is unacceptable, arkham had THE best booty in gaming.
doo doo stranding 2 day one, stupid in all the right ways. pls don't make it more action shooty shooty focused. kojimbles PLEASE.
By Vini.lad Go To PostKojima is absolutely insanePele, pls. You'll be doing the same shite too if people out there are willing to awlays fund your drug infused habits.
What the fuck
By Laboured Go To Postlol. lmaoI played my way through Arkham Knight again not too long ago. Even though I always felt the story to be 'meh', the game's presentation is sensational. RIP to whatever is left of Rocksteady.
Arkham Knight probably top 10 moments where I was visually blown away by a game at the time it came out.

The video is incredibly disingenuous. It cherry picks the best-looking parts of Arkham Knight they could find (people love to oooh and aaah over specular highlights and wet-looking stuff (which, to be fair, I am partial to as well)) and juxtaposes them against the most drab-looking parts of Suicide Squad they could find. Taking the water as an example, if Suicide Squad does have dynamic time of day the water would almost certainly look more pretty under different lighting conditions. I'd bet it's even the same tech under the hood. Given that most of the game's promotion has focused on daytime scenes, I think that's where they feel their art direction looks best.
Most egregiously for me, the video compares the melee combat in a melee-focused single player game to the melee combat in a range-focused multiplayer game. Whether you like the direction they took with the gameplay or not, it's like comparing God of War's melee combat to Halo's. It's also hard to do things in multiplayer games that are trivial in single player ones; for example, the slow motion effect in the Arkham Knight combat would be very difficult to pull off in multiplayer. It would be fairer to compare it Gotham Knights. (Which I don't think compares all that favorably to Arkham Knight either.)
Ultimately, it's manufactured outrage bait that feeds off the "why did they spend X years making this GAAS shooter and not another Batman-type game?" narrative.
All that said, I generally agree with you: I don't think Suicide Squad looks great and I have no interest in playing it. But I wouldn't use that video as evidence of that.
Finished Last of Us 2. Very good. I thoroughly enjoyed that. I can see where people would be letdown by that second half, but I found it to be solidly engaging.
There's some real liberties taken with time and movement in regards to the narrative they were telling; however, that's easily understandable given the scope they were aiming for.
I don't want to see or hear about Ellie ever again. I had fully turned on her by the epilogue. I really liked Abby as soon as you took control of her flashback and heard Owen call her father, Doc. I just went ooooh, she is Ellie. They're the same.
Going to have look over the official thread here to see what folks thought at the time of release.
I've only done one run, but Sy is right, No Return seems like a lot of fun if you enjoyed the base games combat. The fingerprints of Factions is all over this too. Real shame they couldn't find a way to get something together. I hope the making of doc that is releasing tomorrow gives some insight into what happened. I know the development was a huge hassle.

On the plus side, it is thankfully taking the heat off Todd Howard and Starfield.

By WoodenLung Go To Postit was downhill since the very first batman game rocksteady did. That side scroller of Arkham that they did on Vita was interesting. I wonder why they didn't do more of that type of smaller scale game with the series.

I'm currently replaying through it and just got to that bit with Abby and Owen lol.
Such an incredible game. Shame we never got a multiplayer mode with all the updated gameplay.
