That’s all we need to hear in respect of Neil and his work.
Praises, gaming is back. We truly give thanks.
Wonder if they’d do a cinema screening for the reveal trailer? I’d go for sure.

got that unknown 9: awakening game as one of two games with my cpu...
if you are into bad stealth and early ps2 combat, then you will love this. but it is slightly modernised of course. you gotta squeeze through tiny gaps in walls all the time, like in the silent hill 2 remake. what would we do without that feature in modern games.

Turn off all racing aids if you have them on, you lose time with traction control too
By inky Go To PostSQ 42 totally releasing next yearProbably, there was an article yesterday on how they are running out of money so Roberts has been trying to get the team to crunch so SQ 42 is out as quickly as possible.
Well, if anyone can spend 700m on a videogame and never release it, it's Rockstar Chris Roberts.
Every bit of SC in isolation is incredibly dull and pedestrian, but all of it put together in the context of the one true space engine and the scope of it all, it's still mighty impressive.

Scope creep is a hell of a thing.
How SC is still receiving any public backing after over a decade is mind-boggling.

I know remember why I didn’t get into Gran Turismo last time I tried one (GT5).
Installed the game from disc, started it ready to play. Then hit with excruciatingly long download before I can even start it up. This race to the beat shit isn’t helping either.
How big is this download supposed to be, anyone know?

I’m over it. I played the first three races, started with the Honda Fit. It’s cool, can see myself playing a good bit of this in between deciding on the next single player game to play.
Speaking of which, I’ve ordered Metaphor.

Massarutto's time was brief, but he did manage to sneak in a note that ACE will feature a free-roaming mode to allow players to drive the game's cars on the road. That's also an emergent property of the new KS engine, with Massarutto adding that it's "based on a new terrain technology that can allow us to manage a very big map and hundreds of kilometers of roads".they saw all the money those free roam mods were getting. Wish GT had something like this, they can even just repurpose the japanese circuit, add traffic and boom, money.
As above, the big screen behind him added more information, with a bulletpoint stating "procedural technology for free roam maps". That could mean that the roads you drive on are generated on the fly, though we'd imagine some players will also want more permanent road locations too.
We'll have to wait and see on this, but Massarutto did comment that "a lot of people are enjoying AC with mods created on roads like the LA Canyon or the Tokyo Highway," noting that KS will be recreating that with its own content "generated and created in KS that are based on real data on real locations that we believe will be very connected with the life of the petrolhead".

you can save seconds using mt. mt is the way to go for sure.
takes a bit to get used to, but it gives you so much more control over the car.
what shooters are you guys playing?
i'm kinda excited for fragpunk but anything else coming out soon?

Stalker must be played on a PC, a shit one. With a Dell membrane keyboard, ball mouse and a bottle of vodka. It’s absolutely necessary for the vibes.

I use manual, you can get the car to rotate the front and do some aggressive engine braking cause the physics account for that stuff without any mechanical damage going from 6th gear to 1st 🤣 Most people in open lobbies use auto, while the vast majority of A+ S drivers use manual. It takes getting used to without traction control but you're faster. Try racing your ghost in a time trial, your best lap with auto/aids and then try manual without and you'll see how big the gap can be.

I'll be interested when it drops.
The Steam Deck 2 is about as much a well-kept secret as Deadlock, albeit the latter's existence is official now and the former is acknowledged but still sees quite a way off. When I expressed concern that Steam Deck competitors were seemingly all too willing to release hardware refreshes after a year, Yang clarified that Valve isn't interested in that approach for Steam Deck.
"It is important to us, and we've tried to be really clear, we are not doing the yearly cadence," said Yang. "We're not going to do a bump every year. There's no reason to do that. And, honestly, from our perspective, that's kind of not really fair to your customers to come out with something so soon that's only incrementally better. So we really do want to wait for a generational leap in compute without sacrificing battery life before we ship the real second generation of Steam Deck. But it is something that we're excited about and we're working on."
By Laboured Go To PostI'll be interested when it drops.I think they’re aiming to get Series S levels of performance at 15w, same 1 hour 30 / 2 hour 20 battery as the LCD/OLED models. I’m also assuming it’ll remain a 800p device since any gain in resolving will reduce effective performance.

but maybe my standards are just lower for portable devices. 🤷
e: according to this calculator, the current Steam Deck screen has a retina-like effect when viewed at roughly 16"; that feels about right to me
e2: 900p would be retina at ~13" and 1080p would be at ~11"; maybe 900p could be a good compromise between current resolution and 1080p
