Cleared the first dungeon in Metaphor. Was pretty great for what's clearly a tutorial. The floaty head rock in the sky is one of the best visuals I've seen in a game for ages.
Also love the designs of the Humans. Taking some inspiration from Attack on Titan but then getting really weird with it.

Shame I spent all my MAG giving someone the wrong archetype because I assumed he'd be better off with physical damage, and another character would want magic ¬¬
Hopefully MAG is available enough to switch their paths, the guy with the magic has like 66% of the MP that the other guy does and MP management is pretty huge if Persona is anything to go by. Hopefully you unlock a bestiary later. Will buy it tomorrow.

Yeah you get plenty of MAG for that no worries, and there's a way to reduce the prices significantly. The best skills to inherent are fucking expensive though 😭

I can't think of many PS4 games that look worse than it btw, and I don't think it was an exaggeration when I read people saying it looks worse than a lot of PS3 games.
Don't know what the fuck is going on there, everything about it graphically is really poor from my layman's perspective. I get it when studios sacrifice too much in some areas to try and excel in others, but this is a complete whiff in every department. Art design has't popped so far, but it's decent enough that it's not at fault for the game looking bad overall.
Is there a stage where you reckon it'll be clear whether I'm playing it on the right difficulty?

Probably not in the demo, maybe the next dungeon when you have a full party? On higher difficulties they start with an extra turn, which makes a massive difference lol
I actually genuinely like how it looks, they're going for a water painting look and I fuck with it. The forest area is straight up a Tales map lol but you will only see these simplistic ones again in side missions
The in-game cutscenes look really nice especially the characters.

I followed a social link guide for P3R and did enjoy not worrying about fucking anything up... but referring to a guide whenever I was outside a dungeon ended up feeling very chore-ish. So I don't think I will here. Hopefully it's not as strict as the Persona games are when socialmaxxing.

N64 didn't even have a good Bomberman
N64 is probably the best local multiplayer system of all time. Only thing that ever came close to capturing the feel was Halo 1. And gamecube has the better version of smash but can’t really compete outside that. Dreamcast had 4 ports but was pretty underutilized. I may get one I just hate giving analogue an interest free loan.

I think I will ultimately hold off on this till the inevitable fantastic variants are released. The pocket was/is great but I have a launch model and have wanted some of these variations. Still mad I missed on super/mega NTs.

I am in the prison section right now, and I am absolutely bored of actually playing it. Overstays its welcome so hard, I truly dont understand how reviewers can think this is anywhere near as good as the original.
There is the same amount of creatures variety in this. Sure. But you also have to beat about 20x more of every type in this one, cause the source material simply isnt meant to be a 20 hour game. When you've fought the same enemy about 10 times, you know exactly what to do, even to barely lose any ammo or health, there is no challenge or fun.,... It's just there, and a lot more of it. The same thing is the case for all the puzzles.
Most of my surprisingly positive thoughts at the start of the game, are long gone by now. I play it to try and get through it, not to enjoy it or have a good time.

Ngl, the remake culture argument being aimed at SH2r is funny af. Quality or not, that series came back with multiple new titles in development, before the remake of 2 even released.
While RE2r kickstarted the remake craze (I guess), it wasn't the game that saved Resident Evil: Resident Evil 7 did.
I dunno I'm watching that video and while I haven't played the remake of 2 yet (I have no opinions on it) but...

Silent Hill 1 literally had a stealth mechanic in it. It wasn't even until RE4 that the RE series caught up with 1 and 3, in terms of combat mechanics (well, minus Jill's broken ass dodge and I guess REmake defense items). SH2 really did a number on the perception of that series and warped every view of horror games after it. OG2 really is that good and culturally relevant.
