Finished SH2. Very cool story and visual themes. Strong soundtrack and sound design in general. I really liked most of the cutscenes and characters... only Laura felt a bit shit but naturally she's probably the hardest to make feel interesting. Angela and her story were probably the best of the subplots. Gameplay is poor though; people calling this an RE2-tier remake are off their chops. It's serviceable though even if it's barebones considering how much there is of it. I can't remember specifically but the kill count in the end was well into the 300 range I think, which I did not expect.
Game did not need to be 16+ hours long. That and the shitty performance are my only true beefs with the it. The prison and labyrinth areas ended up feeling pretty tedious when by all accounts they are many peoples favourite areas of the original game. They just go on and on with very little story progression.
Need to find a game to fill the time until Dragon Age now...

the jump from tlou1 to tlou2 is incredible. Even though they both start slow, the intro of tlou2 is so much more playable. Tried the tlou remake and I uninstalled before I fired a bullet.
Not as bad as the MGSV intro though. That is the worst in history.

Really excited for Veilguard myself. Playing a bit of Metaphor RF right now but don’t expect I’ll finish it before VG comes out. We’ll see. Maybe VG will just plain suck.
EA on the box is a stamp of shit guarantee, so I will not be partaking in Dragon Age.
My October schedule is pretty stacked:
Continue Spiderman 2
Platinum Bloodborne + DLC
Start Gran Turismo 7
Call of Duty 57 on gamepass.

I refuse to replay Bloodborne. The drop in quality after beating Rom broke my heart. Still working through it all these years later.

No interest, was here for the story and got the story.
Silent Hill 3 though... maybe.
@Hixx
I regret not playing Silent Hill 3. It looks brilliant
@Metaphor
+ you can mostly hangout with anyone at most times and it always leads to a rank up. It felt like a waste of time in Persona when you get nothing out of it
+ main dungeons are all unique SO FAR and ask you to do different things not just straight up dungeon crawling and aren't palaces with a different theme.
+ mini dungeons SO FAR are decent and full of delicious loot🫦 I like mapping out a route to cross as many quests as I can in one trip
+ QoL in combat and outside is sweet. And whenever you pick up an item or chest the game autosaves so try to abuse that in dungeons to save your progress lol.
+ For once, Hard mode is done right.
+ love everything about the Archetype system. It's a fun way to get stronger versions of spells. Don't sleep on Inhert Skill and igniters (accessory?)
+ the combos are peak for cooking
+ no dating
+ More's ASMR voice
I'll try to find something to hate.

What the hell they've been doing good lately
💀
According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter, the company is “taking a traditionally Japanese approach to reducing staff and sending workers to rooms where they are given nothing to do, putting pressure on them to leave voluntarily.”

By C4-621 Go To PostWhat the hell they've been doing good latelyTop level management, product managers, producers, ad teams, and product teams are and have been on different wavelengths from each other. Nearly every video game Bamco makes is unfocused, over managed, and has unrealistic sales expectations.

By C4-621 Go To Post@Hixxoh there are things I dislike, or meh about, but that goes with any game really.

Nothing terrible (except for one particular plot point, which became a bit hilarious) but everything is great enough that I'm having fun for the most of it.
Regarding Namco Bandai, Must be because Blue Protocol was such a massive failure (as well as that the game industry is not really in a good state lately)

I’m glad the Silent Hill 2 cutscenes are 30fps and the stutter is less noticeable at 30 fps, because it makes me feel less weird playing at 30 fps since it’s my preference anyway. Props to Bloober.

People will use this as a rod to beat Bethesda with, but realistically they’re completely right.
By HottestGrapes Go To PostPeople will use this as a rod to beat Bethesda with, but realistically they’re completely right.Yup. It's a video game, not some software that could kill someone if there was a bug. Obviously, you don't want to be ok with that many bugs and there are ways to safeguard against many of them and Bethesda should invest in those policies & procedures, but you do have to ship something out at some point.
You do want to at least have few enough bugs that you don't have people wanting to bring back
to make sure they aren't getting burned by a non-functional game and Bethesda games have gotten closer to teetering on the edge than many other big name publishers.
The seal is cool but I can point out many NES, SNES and even N64 games that had game breaking glitches in, even with that seal on them.
A certain standard should be upheld, at least as much as realistically possible. Games like AC Unity or Cyberpunk, etc. should not have been released in the state they were in.
