Chalice dungeon Rom is a huge cunt. Might give the dungeons a rest and run through Old Hunters next up.
Dont tag me when the game comes out and its shit

Old Hunters swooped in with a remix of Cathedral Ward and now my enthusiasm is refilled after the Chalice Dungeon debacle.
Boom hammers? Claws? Nothing can match the Holy Blade + Auger combo, straight to stun lock city with these hunters

End of Pentiment Act 2 wtf
Stuff around Guy seemed very buggy. One conversation with him looped for no reason, then it went a bit weird because I found a couple of clues in the wrong order for the game to handle, then conversations with him just made the game soft freeze, and finally I couldn't accuse him at the end. It also said I failed the check to send Caspar away, but it happened anyway.

Probably one of the most extreme examples I can recall of the quality of artistic design versus the quality of the technical execution of that art.

When asked which game franchise he would like to “take over” with an unlimited budget, Hidetaka Miyazaki is, expectedly, a bit confused as to what answer to give. Further prompts from the interviewer state it could be a past or present franchise. Miyazaki then asks if he can get his development team, and on being told yes, he drops two names: Ultima Online and EverQuest.
sorry action bois, miyazaki is one of me

The chalice dungeons are truly horrible. I see the endless roguelike vision but they failed to execute it

It has no TAA impementation so it can't do PSSR. And it takes running it at 8K to even begin to start looking better.

The main dungeons needed to get the achievements really don’t fall into that rogue-like category.
They’re all set in stone in terms of level design, enemies and placements. Bosses too. They’re just less polished versions of Elden Ring catacombs. Some are pretty cool, the issue is they’re visually very samey and drag compared to the variety offered in Yharnam.
Generally I think they’re enjoyable in small doses. Grinding away level after level is where they get tedious because it’s all so samey.
The seeded dungeons on the other hand, I wouldn’t know how they are in comparison. They’re locked behind PS+, lmao. No CUMMMFPK level farming for me.
By Rob Go To Postmafia 3 already disappointing. i should have been able to throw that first guard into the fireStick with it, it turned out to be my favourite of the series.
Watching some SH2 remake
Can't believe you lot doubted Bloober, looks great. A lot of juddering going on though with both the camera when it moves too quickly, and the main character when he changes elevation. Expect that's an easy enough patch. Original James Sunderland looked much better I think. Tough to find the balance between looking striking and looking like an everyman, but they've gone too far towards the latter in the remake imo
Feel the same way about Leon Kennedy in the remakes, original RE4 was his best look easily.

RGG boss says he wanted to make a Yakuza game called Like a Dragon: Tuna where Kiryu is a fishermanThere's a world out there where Kiryu is gaming's Mario
And in that world sy joined ISIS and Dy does not condemn Hamas

Lynching a "Klan" leaderpretty much beats anything FromSoftware has done for me.
Beat all the content on DOOM 1 + 2 and come to the realization that I vastly prefer DOOM 1 to DOOM 2.
DOOM 2 is basically bullet hell FPS. Romero's DOOM is better paced, his level design is godly and he'll kill you just as quickly with less enemies.
Gonna start Silent Hill 2 but Doom 1 + 2 definitely staying installled on my PC. The mod browser alone will make me come back to it. But also all the insane music options

partially because I'm coming off Doom I'm sure but the leap in graphics is so insane whenever they remake stuff ilke this or RE 2
tonally the game feels way different, and not for the better. especially maria is a big downgrade on that front, both her voice acting, but also why she constantly have to walk around cracking jokes, is that just a disease of over the shoulder third person games? james is,... ok, but a downgrade imo, while eddie and laura i think are better. combat is bad, was in the originals too, but an added focus to it makes it worse. puzzles so far been extremely easy.
but they did succeed in way more than i thought tbf. but absolutely crazy to me that people think this is 9/10 good. we had review inflation.

The controversy around Laura is hilarious because she looks 100% better in this than the cigarette mom they based her on in the original. And James looks uglier which I think is a better choice

i was thinking of their voice actors mostly but...are you not thinking of angela, not laura?
sure laura did look somewhat ill. which also made sense to her part to the story… she was at that hospital after all, with mary. But based on a cigarette mother? just looks like a ill kid.
angelas voice is an upgrade, but her design imo is way worse. She doesnt look nearly as ill or messed up as in the original, instead she just looks like a comical cartoon version of fox mulder.
the discourse about people wanting her to look sexy is idiotic, it's not what ive seen most people be upset about. although i am sure some have, there is a lot of mongs out there. that applies to maria instead though, who doesnt seem like an evil person seducing james any longer.
but well, i am only in the brookhaven hospital part. not done yet.
My experience with the Silent Hill 2 remake is that it's definitely that game again. It looks nice and I think it's a great way to play the game for the first time if you've never played it before or if you just love Silent Hill and want an excuse to play it again but for someone who played 2 recently and thought it was pretty good I don't really think I need to play any more of it. Felt the same way about Dead Space remake and RE4 remake but at least those games have a combat loop that can be entertaining.
I'm also curious how the younger crowd takes to it because the Silent Hill franchise has gotten a small cult following with zoomers but I don't think they actually play the games they just like ~the vibe~ and this'll probably be their first time actually playing it and man it's slow.
It's also weird because in some ways it seems very high budget and other ways it feels very low budget at the same time
