This is so disappointing. Original game is one of my favourite games of all time. This just seems so lazily done. No music, no voice acting, animations look bad, annoying sound effects.

I think the only people who wouldn’t enjoy it are dead inside.
It offers little challenge but it’s fun and levels tend to have either a unique gimmick or a new spin on one from a previous level. Not unlike 3D Mario games honestly.

Considering Mario Odyssey and just about any 3D Mario post-Sunshine is superior to Astro Bot I don’t really see how.

Kinda shocked the MGS Collection has held its value for so long. It’s finally under £20 on Series X, but still generally £35 on PC/PS5.

Probably not. It’s a fantastic game but it doesn’t really touch the vast majority of 3D Mario games. Levels are extremely linear, it doesn’t ever have the challenging jump that the secret Mario games have.
As genuinely good as it is, it’s closest to 64 and even then it can’t match the movement options, the variety of objectives etc. Honestly, even Playroom was a little more experimental in terms of what it did with the controller etc.
