By WoodenLung Go To Postthank god, selling my ps5 just about covered the infinite wealth purchases i had to make
Deus Ex MD suffered an online hate campaign that basically killed the series off for less egregious micro transactions than this.
By HottestGrapes Go To PostDeus Ex MD suffered an online hate campaign that basically killed the series off for less egregious micro transactions than this. That had three tiers of DLC unlockables dependent on the number of global preorders on top of selling praxis kits, and some dumb mobile add-on.
But what killed the game was the lack of ending imo. SMH.

When Kojima ships a game without an ending, it’s heralded as an artistic meta commentary on the industry.
Deus Ex MD releases with an abrupt ending and it still gets beat up by Inky over nearly 8 years later.
By Rob Go To PostMankind Divided is still the only game I ever regret purchasing. That game just kinda ends.
By HottestGrapes Go To PostWhen Kojima ships a game without an ending, it’s heralded as an artistic meta commentary on the industry. Not by me. I liked it btw, it's just the first thing normies ever mention so it obviously had an impact on legs and the state of the franchise.

See above.
I had a great time with it honestly. Prague was fun to explore. Looked great visually. Liked the story and characters.
Any day now, the YouTubers will decend on it and make multiple 3-7 hour long video essays about how good it was. Then the public opinion will change.

but deus ex was already on thin ground
Pretty barebones. I will keep saying it but fucking Christ the hero lighting in these Horizon games is one of the worst artistic decisions I've seen in a AAA title.
it's nice that sony not just supports ultrawide, but also makes a point out of it.
it's just a shame they are mostly porting out big sleep games.
where is my gran turismo

The only thing I have yet to know about Palworld are these 3 things:
- It's a Pokemon ripoff
- It's wildly popular and doing numbers
- It does sketchy AI generated shit
The thing I have yet to see anyone post about: it's actual gameplay

I saw gameplay and it was one character with a gun on a map that looked like Fortnite. I have no interest in these games, but good luck to them and their lawyers if the heat gets turned up after recent statements.

it's standard survival shit, with crafting and building. only played it once so far and it really didnt seem like a game for me, but I can see why it's a vibe game with friends. sadly my friends to play vidya with (quiche and will) are bastard men.
By s y Go To PostThe palworld dick riders are also aibros. Hope they kill themselves etcI'm sure its happening to you too, but having to debate AI art with them irl is the worst part.

Mosty right but it doesn't play like a Pokemon game barely at all and there isn't any AI-generated shit in it (but their CEO is a pro AI dickhead).

it's nothing like pokemon which makes the "GAMEFREAK SCURRED, THEY WILL NOW HAVE TO TRY!!" thing even funnier because people who say this don't actually play Palworlds or Pokemon.
GameFreak has tons to improve and learn but nothing really from this.

I finished Witcher 3 DLC this morning. Blood and Wine has some pretty incredible quests there down the stretch. Nice surprises and different paths for how it wraps up. What a game. Nearly inclined to install the PS5 version - since it's free - and start over.
It took over three weeks for me to finish this games two DLC expansions. I did see all they have to offer, but they're still very meaty. Where do you guys find the time to play so much shit? 😔
I've installed and paid the $10 for Last of Us 2 Remaster. That should be much shorter and straightforward.

Not really an AI around that could constitute 3D models like that. It appears to have been all done by artists who were probably instructed to sail close to the line. Only question outstanding is whether they ripped Pokemon 3D models as a base or to incorporate into their models.

Did you like Blood & Wine more than Hearts of Stone?

I'd put my money on they made all this stuff themselves but the designs are just really close to the Pokemon designs.

they could also just have... copied the pokemon designs without an AI.
either way, it's pretty clear they copied a lot of the designs. so doesnt matter too much.

Yeah that's what I think has probably happened. While a few of the parts of models look pretty close they are not exact and the artists have taken "inspiration" to its furthest extent. And that makes it a tough case for Nintendo to bring. Not to say they won't make threats of course.
All of this said this will be fought in Japan and I've never looked at Japanese IP law but copyright is one of the more intenationally harmonised areas of IP law.

The only acceptable use of AI is for resumes, because that shit is stupid anyway (sorry Kidjr) since you could be the most accomplished person in the world but if your resume doesn’t include some specific keywords they are looking for, no one will even know you exist.

Oh and I'm not even trying to, they'll drag you into it if they know you're an artist.
By KimoSan Go To PostI think I did. The stakes seemed higher and the new map was enjoyable.True true. I can't quite remember why I enjoyed the first one more, probably the lack of vampires.
It's a bit like Arceus, but nothing like an actual Pokémon game. After awhile the survival stuff is all automated by your animal slaves and it's mostly about exploring and finding new Pals to put to work.
Definitely a game to play with friends, I've been playing with my girlfriend and she spends all her time building up the base like it's The Sims. But a very limited version.
There's a lot of glitches and stuff like that which make for funny moments.

Is this a surprise? They spent 70 billion dollars to acquire a company and their assets. Of course they're going to rearrange things as they see fit. It's also why Xbox in the console space is probably not going to be a thing in less than ten years.
As touched upon earlier, going into videogame development (or anything arts adjacent, animation, CG, etc) comes with a bit of a view tinted in their love for the games which makes them susceptible to naivete.
I experienced this myself with my first job working for an NBA team because it allowed me to merge two of my passions into one, but in the end I came out of it feeling naive af because it resulted in being exploited to a large degree off of that passion.
I remember when I last interviewed and worked with a recruiter, they had a job listing that was open to work at Disney that was a good 25% less pay than the salary range I was in. My recruiter flat out told me: "people love Disney so they are willing to work for less money there."
So, none of this is at all surprising to me that people that cheered on the acquisition viewed it in such a different light. Unfortunately, they just learned the hard way. A not-so-small number of these people affected by the layoffs will still excuse it, which is the worst aspect of it all.
