Is it worth trying out the og Stalker games before the sequel releases?
FWIW I loved all the Metro games
BUT
I'm not in the mood atm to tinker with a bunch of mods to tune the experience
Would vanilla og Stalker suffice?

stalker is quite different to the metro games. cool, also in vanilla form but... very unforgiven and with classic eurojank ui.
call of pripyat is supposed to be a lot easier to get into today, just more polished and everything a bit better, but it's also a sequel to stalker so... so you obviously would skip part of the story.

By WoodenLung Go To Postthe gamers have spoken. they want turn based backSquare should just turn final fantasy into 2DHD games or get real bold and go back to making them with prerendered backgrounds

OG STALKER doesn't need mods. I don't know how well it runs on modern machines though, might need to check if there's a compatibility/stability/bugfixes patch for that.
don't jump into Call of Pripyat directly, the original has a more focused storyline/quests and better atmosphere.
perfection

i would be there
By C4-621 Go To PostI think they're good, they managed to lower expectations with Starfield.Maybe that was the whole point of Starfield
Tried the first 3 games of UFO 50.
Barbuta is an old school adventure that doesn't tell you anything, just drops you in the game without explaining what you need to do. You have a sword, there are enemies and traps, treasure chests with coins and items, I only found one item but I don't know what it does. Going to have to explore it a bit more.
Bug Hunter is an early favourite. A turn based strategy game played in 6x5 grid, you have 7 action slots that you can use in each turn. There are movement, shooting and terrain based actions, you start with a default set and you need to pick energy modules to change the actions for others, you get different choices each time. You can also shoot the energy modules, that makes a big blast so you need to be at a decent distance.
Objective is to kill bugs and not allow the eggs to hatch or the board will be overrun.
It's pretty fun but not easy. Definitely going to replay this a lot.
Ninpek is an auto runner where you are a ninja running and shooting down everything that moves. This one is hard as fuck, I lasted about 20 seconds on my first run and about 1 minute in my second run. Good fun if you like a challenge.
Loving this so far, it's very neat and a love letter to retro gaming.

By C4-621 Go To PostPaging Horse for legal advicethey just won some cases against Pokemon knockoffs and must think it would help them win
Things to surmise from this are that all of the talk about copied assets etc. have nothing to do with this as far as I can see.
Patents are protected methods of achieving a technical effect. So art assets are not important here and Nintendo's lawyers have found something else.
In the UK we don't that often even fuck with software patents, although I know they do in the US. Presumably likewise in Japan but I'm no expert in that jurisdiction.

By Crusher Go To PostPalworld was like years ago, took Nintendo a minute.Seems to be the norm. They want to know how much to sue you for.

I bet they've been forum shopping for claims the world over to fuck them. Patents are nice in principle for Nintendo because claims are top-tier expensive (legal costs wise) as are the damages awards.
By inky Go To PostSo game is getting delisted is what you're saying here…They could delist every PC flavour of the month crafting/survival shitbox and nothing of value would be lost.
GG Nintendo. Clear them out and free my brothers from these awful games.
By Crusher Go To PostPalworld was like years ago, took Nintendo a minute. It’s a lot easier to say how much they benefited by stealing from you when it’s hard numbers and not theoretical.
I also think someone at Nintendo just finds joy in letting people finish a project and then shutting it down, letting them do all that work for nothing
By data Go To PostDid it not sell 10+ million?
the games industry repeatedly told Sony we don't wanna see that shit
By HottestGrapes Go To PostDid it not sell 10+ million?20+ million. Just one of those games the internet pretends isnt a big deal
Horizon is popular but does it really need a remaster? It still looks and runs fine on a ps5. If Sony is content remaking things and not actually making anything new they should least move to games that don’t work on their current console.
why would a game about hunting giant robot dinosaurs that's even halfway decent ever not sell great lol
I forgot sony is releasing lego horizon. I guess this is a I see you liked this game well here is another one for you to buy type of thing. they should release it on switch 2
I liked Zero Dawn a lot. Wish GG would move on though since they've fully explored the only interesting part of the story, and the rest of it is a bit dull really.
Found it pretty cutting and telling that in Astro Bot the only Killzone bots were repeats of the default Helghan soldier
