Agree that Dreamcast is/was overhyped.

I will not be paying that for a PS5 pro when I don't even feel like my PS5 has actually done anything remarkable when it comes to graphics outside of Demons Souls

Saturn is ok but I really don't get how Sega could have released Virtua Racer in 1992 Virtua Fighter in 1993 and be active developing Daytona and somehow think the next wave of consoles were going to be 2D subsequently be blindsided by the fact the PS1 was built to be a 3D machine and have to Frankenstein the Saturn to run 3D and without any good tools to convert Model 1 and 2 to the system so it got shit ports of their own games.

GTA VI is rumored to be delayed till Q1/2 2026 now anyway.

Feel like it's the games rather than the console that have been so underwhelming this gen. Obviously Ragnarok and Forbidden West having to be made for PS4 as well didn't help, but I think both are just fundamentally worse games than the ones that preceded them.

Combine that with the fact that Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch haven't done anything this gen and it's been a bit shit.

Not really seeing any reason to buy a Pro this time around. How much are used, launch window PS5s selling for?

If there’s two models then the disc model will be slightly cheaper than buying the driveless model and a disc drive. Sony are all about that upsell.

Forgetting Sony exclusives, how many worthwhule current gen exclusives have actually made it to any system? Does Cyberpunk count? Baldies gate and Ellen ring are the main ones that come to mind

Generally, yeah, I do. When picking furniture to put the consoles and such under the TV, I specifically got something that would have as much airflow as possible so that the fans in all the various electronics wouldn't need to spin up as often or as fast.

Similarly, when picking out parts for my PC, I generally research for and purchase the case, fans, PSU, pump, etc. that have a very low noise floor while still providing adequate cooling. I still need to invest in a handful of acoustic panels to stop the slight echoes in the room.

I really, really, really enjoy waking up in the mornings and either working or partaking in my hobbies with the only other sounds coming from (preferably) nature outside the house. I have to make allowances for A/C and such.

Hell, in my previous house, my computer desk was within 10 feet of the fridge and I was always bothered by how loud the compressor got, so I bought a new fridge that was known for being quiet. My inner peace was boosted tremendously.

also, I use open-back headphones, so I can still hear everything going on in the house even with games or music playing. I both like the openess of the sound and it also helps me keep better track of what my dog is up to.
