That Star Wars game looks kinda good to me. Definitely getting purchased in a sale near Christmas when it’s down to like £15 like every other Ubisoft game
Wukong bad:
-This snow area is even bigger than the desert, and more confusing too. Too much of it looks the same! I was running around in circles for 10 minutes at one point.
-They really gotta work on the level/environment design for the next one, I am running into invisible walls every 10 seconds. This was figured out in the PS2 area, just raise the geometry to wall off non-explorable areas smh.
Wukong good:
-I do like the side quests, not as vague/bad as fromsoft but not explicitly presented either, they strike a good balance so far. I like that shrines display which areas have quest NPCs but Id also like if the journal tracked them as well.
-Favorite ones so far being the fox spirit quest and the jail prince. The fox quest being an extension of the animated chapter cutscene(these are my favorite part of the game) was a great addition. The jail quest rewarded was a spear that buffs thrust stance. It's still essentially a staff but the combo is slightly different. It replaces the most annoying part of the light string(that stupidly long twirl) and & all the hit sfx have been replaced. Wasn't expecting they'd go the extra mile.
The blind monks are the first notable regular enemy NPCs so far. Most of the rest aren't alive enough to leave an impression.

This game, its (unbelievably high/strong) qualities, and the trash discourse and reception around it are all hugely symbolic of the cultural decay modern developed civilization is currently experiencing to be quite honest with you. It's stunning actually, and I can very easily see this game and its reaction being something that art historians/anthropologists/sociologists in the distant future look at as a reflection of the culture. Because it's something else.
As someone who was in a terrible but very serious emotionally/psychologically abusive relationship with an extremely intelligent, capable person that was all about denying reality/trying to control my perception of things, let me tell you, I can spot/smell the bullshit from a mile a way. Shit's actually both disgusting and pathetic to me on a deep level. The reaction to this game at large has viscerally affected me personally because I'm intimately familiar with the mental games of deranged people.
And when I say the response phenomenon to this game is fascism at work, I am deadly serious. One of the core tenets of fascist movements is to bring culture to heel using the force and influence of terror. Precisely what's going on here. They are simultaneously trying to both deny perception and to shape reality.
