Got my first W on Chronos. Selene is my GOAT.
I had passive magic regain, magic regain on hit, less Hex Cost, passive Hex Gain, and most of the Magic Girl Transformation tree maxed out. Spent most of the fight in Super Saiyan, taking no damage.
I'm going to have to actually learn how to fight him at some point. lol. That man is nonsense incarnate.

But it's fine really, its more interested in being a God of War adventure than an action monkey.
What I like about the chapters so far is that you kinda don't know where the hell you're gonna end up or meet lol. And they feel like self contained arcs with huge payoffs.
I'm trying to read every character entry like a dumbass. Chinese mythology is truly incredible we're fucking tired of Zeus and Odin
Chinese voiceover is the way to go for sure. I'm a couple of hours in, still in the forest area, it's been pretty easy so far.
Fun tho, I'm really liking how combining the different skills and abilities in combat works.
Although the way the game is structured ... farming Sparks seems like the easiest thing ever?

i didn't like the starting weapon layout as much either, but there's waaay more options for builds as things settle in.
its fantastic as is - but considering how much was under the hood with hades 1 early access compared to 1.0, i'm just waiting. there was a ton added and im looking forward to the whole product. i played it up to cronos, smiled, and uninstalled lol

Oh yeah I forgot I did that. Idk I'mma give it another year and see where the mods are at. I checked recently and it seems the ones I used at launch, and which still seem like some of the best mods, haven't really been bettered or updated so idk if the mod community is strongly behind the game.
I didn't really like any of the mods. The UI mod was too cluttered and not transformative like SkyUI. FoV and stuff like that has been added to the game, and the ones that change color temperature, LUTs, etc. Are a crapshoot and never look good. Difficulty sliders made all balance mods irrelevant and most of the rest are shit like Star Wars outfits or ships, now there are some rover mods too.
IDK, Skyrim took like 5 years for really good mods to start appearing, and the modding tools have only been released.
There are apparently a couple of good creation club missions but I'm not paying $5 for each. Well except if my credits expire in which case I might have to buy something with them before they do.

Or poison spirits!
The R2+L3 depends on the level too, but you better get the fire immunity one from chapter 1 because you'll need it lol

As for spells, Immobilize is goated, as is Red Tides. The wolf's piercing heavy attack is amazing for avoiding getting hit by bosses. You can get a good six strikes in before you turn back into monke.
